Gamers were appalled to discover a game entitled The Suicide Forest listed on the Xbox Live Creators Collection based upon the infamous video uploaded by YouTuber Logan Paul. Microsoft has responded to the complaints quickly, pulling the game from the online store.

The game's name is based off of Aokigahara, a forest in Japan which is notorious for its high suicide attempt rate. Logan Paul recently filmed footage of a deceased person there and subsequently released it on YouTube. While the game isn't endorsed by Logan Paul or seemingly directly connected to him, the game's description and images are inspired by the events. Players were to play as a vlogger and tasked with entering the forest and 'searching for bodies to get millions of views' for their YouTube channels. The playable character is clearly designed to mimic Logan Paul's appearance from the aforementioned video, even including a version of the alien hat he wore.

The game's listing was initially discovered yesterday on the Xbox Live Creators Collection, which is a marketplace designed to allow anyone who develops a game to publish them to Xbox and Windows 10. Although games uploaded to the Creators Program are subject to a "short and simple certification process," it's clear that this one somehow bypassed any censorship rules. The lack of thorough examination of this game was made even more obvious by its absurd PEGI-3 rating, the equivalent of a Early Childhood ESRB rating in the United States.

After the game drew attention on Twitter, Xbox community manager Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb took notice and stated on his own Twitter account that the game would be taken care of. It has subsequently been removed and is no longer available for download.

Surprisingly, this wasn't the only game that's been released to the public based on these events. Google Play previously removed an endless runner game with the same theme for Android devices. While some indie devs aren't shying away from the morbid topic, it's clear that Google and Microsoft have zero tolerance for this type of game being published on their platforms.
