After experiencing some issues last night, Xbox Live is once again down for many gamers. According to Xbox, its “Core Services” are unavailable, meaning gamers are unable to log into their accounts via their console or Xbox.com.

Today’s widespread problems began a few hours ago after recovering from yesterday’s limited issues that were affecting purchased games. Of the current situation, Xbox has offered a response via the Xbox Live Service Status Page as well as Twitter. On the Status Page, Xbox said:

"Our engineers and developers are actively continuing to work to resolve the issue causing some members to have problems finding previously-purchased content or purchasing new content. Stay tuned, and thanks for your patience."

There’s no word on what’s causing the issue, so gamers don’t currently have a firm timeline for when the issues should be resolved. Hopefully the team at Xbox will get the problems figured out quickly and bring the gamut of services back online.

With the launch of Mass Effect: Andromeda today, it’s crucial that Xbox get its online services back up and running. While Andromeda can be played offline in single-player, many gamers are looking forward to the multiplayer experience in the new BioWare title.

Additionally, the current outage is keeping some gamers from accessing digitally purchased titles, including the newest Mass Effect. This is sure to be especially frustrating for those who used a doctor’s note to get out of work or school in order to play Mass Effect: Andromeda, but then again perhaps they shouldn't have lied to their teachers/employers.

Gamers can stay tuned to the Xbox Status page and the company’s Twitter account for the latest updates about the Xbox Live issues and outage.
