The Xbox Countdown Sale begins, with discounts on the year's biggest titles including Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and more.

As we near the end of the holiday shopping season, gaming companies are offering their final sales of the year, including Microsoft. The Xbox-maker has just kicked off a three week long sale that it’s dubbed its Countdown Sale, which it’s claiming will be the “biggest-ever” Xbox Live sale.

As previously mentioned, this sale will see more than 350 deals on both Xbox One and Xbox 360. Many of the Xbox 360 titles currently on sale and getting discounts in the coming weeks are available on Xbox One via backward compatibility, so Xbox gamers will have plenty of titles to choose from.

Naturally, this is very good news for those gamers looking to get an Xbox One or Xbox One S as a present, since the sale will run until January 9th. Xbox is offering significant discounts on both new and old titles, with daily deals and weekly deals running continuously until the end of the sale.

To start the Countdown Sale, Xbox is offering Life is Strange Complete Edition for only $5, which is an impressive price considering the high praise Life is Strange has received since launch. That deal will end tonight, and a new deal will be featured tomorrow, so those looking to grab Life is Strange will want to do so as soon as possible.

As for the weekly deals, Microsoft has discounted some of the year’s biggest titles by as much as 50 percent, with titles like Battlefield 1, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Dishonored 2, Gears of War 4, and Titanfall 2 all receiving impressive price drops. The full list of weekly deals happening right now can be seen below.

  • Batman: Arkham Knight -- $10

In addition to the discount on games, Xbox is also offering one month of Xbox Live Gold memberships for $1. Unfortunately, this is only available for new subscribers, so current Xbox Live members won’t be able to take advantage of the deal.

However, as mentioned above, with so many new Xbox One consoles bound for living rooms around the world this holiday season, there’s little doubt Xbox Live memberships will sell well over the next few weeks.

Xbox hasn’t yet revealed any details on the upcoming daily and weekly deals, so there’s no telling if the current discounts will continue past this week. With that in mind, those gamers looking to grab digital copies of any games mentioned above should consider doing so before the week is through.
