The Xbox Series X is a console that has intrigued many gamers. While the Xbox Series X has impressive specifications, some players have questioned how the console will utilize its technology with its first-party games. Luckily, all will be revealed come Thursday, July 23 at 9am PT, as Microsoft has finally given a date for its Xbox Games Showcase.

Xbox had previously set out monthly presentations for the upcoming console and its content but there have been serious setbacks. The first event was met with criticism as it did not show Assassin's Creed Valhalla gameplay, despite a marketing campaign for the event heavily implying that this would be shown. The following Xbox event in June was canceled without too much explanation. As a result of these misfires, there is a lot of pressure on the upcoming event and it seems Xbox is looking to Master Chief to make sure it goes well.

The event in July is set to showcase the highly anticipated Halo Infinite and this has been confirmed by Xbox. Early reports about Halo Infinite have stated that it is a "juggernaut" of a game, and many fans of the series will be interested to see how the game delivers on this description. Yet, the event will have to deliver more than one quality first-party game. The PlayStation 5 has already boasted several exclusive games from Horizon Forbidden West to Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Notably, the PS5 presentation showcased specifically how the games used the console's new technology and this sets a high bar for the Xbox.

The upcoming event looks set to focus purely on exclusive games and projects such as other Xbox Series consoles seem to be scheduled to be revealed in later monthly events. With that in mind, this event will need to deliver a variety of games, and fans of the console have already made it clear what games they would like to see. Many fans are hoping classic franchises like Fable will return at this event, but this has yet to be confirmed by Xbox.

It will be interesting to see if Halo Infinite delivers on expectation and whether this presentation can overcome the issues that have impacted the previous ones. Players who are excited about the Xbox Series X will certainly hope that this event comes back stronger and delivers a vast variety of games.

The Xbox Series X is scheduled to be released later this year.
