Xbox announced on Twitter that the team will be giving away an Xbox Series S that has been specially customized to feature elements of the new HBO fantasy show House of the Dragon. Players who are 18 years of age or older are eligible to enter the sweepstakes, which will be concluded at the end of October. The Xbox giveaway is yet another in a string of recent contests that Microsoft has been hosting for their fans.

Indeed, from a recent Top Gun: Maverick Xbox Series S giveaway to the new House of the Dragon collaboration, it seems that the team at Xbox is dedicated to getting consoles into the hands of players. As the global shortage of materials continues to effect businesses around the world, the platform is attempting to fuel play in whatever ways they can.

House of the Dragon is the prequel to HBO's epic Game of Thrones. The series focuses on House Targaryen, the family that Daenerys is fighting to maintain in the original show. As such, the Xbox sweepstakes features a Series S that bears the Targaryen sigil, a circle of three blood-red dragons. The console also includes textures and patterns that are evocative of the Iron Throne, one of the key elements of George R.R. Martin's fantasy series.

House of the Dragon garnered more than two million viewers during its premier episode, briefly setting the 2022 viewership record, and so it should come as no surprise that Xbox partnering with HBO to bring a themed console to players. And, as previous console generations are left behind, gamers will need systems like the Xbox Series S and the Series X in order to play the most advanced and sophisticated upcoming titles. The current sweepstakes by Xbox requires players to be at least 18 years old, share the post with a special hashtag, and follow the official Xbox Twitter account. While only one player can win the awesome House of the Dragon console, fans can look forward to other giveaways in the future.

Indeed, if recent activity is any indication, Xbox will continue to bring systems to players while also working to foster other ways to game. With multiple day one games coming to Game Pass and cloud gaming getting consistent attention, fans can hope that it will continue to be easier for gamers to play on the Xbox platform than it ever has been before.
