Not too long ago, Microsoft decided to announce the new games coming to the Xbox Game Pass next month, which ought to give subscribers a solid selection of titles from which to play and continue growing their GamerScore. Now, it seems as if the games just keep on coming for Microsoft fans, as the Director of Programming for the Microsoft gaming network Xbox Live, Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb, has officially revealed the Xbox Games With Gold for October 2018.

As seen in the tweet from Hryb below, starting on October 1 and ending on October 31, Xbox One owners who subscribe to Xbox Live will be able to download Team17's and Ghost Town Games' cooking simulation title Overcooked! for free. Then, at the halfway point of next month, EuroVideo Medien and Haemimont Games' action role-playing game Victor Vran will be available to download at no additional cost from October 16 to November 15 for Xbox One.

As usual, October's offerings for Xbox Games With Gold will include two titles for Xbox 360 owners, too. This time around, owners of the last generation console will be privy to the likes of THQ and Paradigm Entertainment's Stuntman: Ignition (available Oct. 1-15), and Eidos Interactive and IO Interactive's Hitman: Blood Money (available Oct. 15-31). Of course, both of these titles will also be backward compatible for Xbox One players to take advantage of the deal.

Taking all of this into account, it will be interesting to see how Xbox fans respond to next month's free Games With Gold, as some have already asserted that September 2018's offerings were meager at best. While one could argue that October's Games With Gold are a big step up from September's, it definitely looks as if Microsoft intends on saving some of the best IPs for addition to the Xbox Game Pass instead of offering them up for free in the Games With Gold program.

Xbox Games With Gold's next round of titles will begin appearing for free starting on October 1, 2018.
