Xbox Live Gold subscribers have four new games to look forward to in November, including Dungeon Siege 3 on Xbox 360 and Pneuma: Breath of Life on the Xbox One.
October’s Games with Gold games were somewhat disappointing, as Microsoft really only offered subscribers three distinct games for free download. However, those disappointed with last month’s offerings should be happy to know that there will be four different games to download in November, and all appear to be of decent quality.
First off, for Xbox One owners, there’s Pneuma: Breath of Life. An indie game from the [email protected] program, Pneuma is a first-person platformer with puzzle elements, clearly inspired by Portal. Read our Pneuma: Breath of Life review to find out more, but know that the game should make for a fun free download when it’s made available from November 1st to November 30th.
Knight Squad is the second Games with Gold title coming to Xbox One in November, and it will be available from November 16th to December 15th. Another [email protected] game, Knight Squad offers a very different experience than Pneuma, boasting a top-down perspective for up to 8 players very much inspired by Bomberman and Gauntlet.
Whereas the Xbox One is getting a pair of indie games, Xbox 360 Gold subscribers can look forward to downloading two big budget releases in November. First up is Dirt 3, the critically-acclaimed racing game that released back in 2011. Gold subscribers can download Dirt 3 from November 1st to November 15th.
Joining Dirt 3 on Xbox 360 is Dungeon Siege 3, another 2011 release. An action-RPG from the folks at Obsidian, Dungeon Siege 3 may not be their most beloved game, but it does offer a decent helping of co-op dungeon crawling gameplay.
Overall, November’s Games with Gold titles are a serious improvement over last month’s batch of free games. For those that own both an Xbox 360 and an Xbox One, there is increased value, as both Dirt 3 and Dungeon Siege 3 will be playable on Xbox One thanks to the system’s upcoming backward compatibility with Xbox 360 games. While we don’t know exactly when these particular games will pop up on the backward compatibility list, Xbox One owners can look forward to the beginnings of backward compatibility for Xbox 360 games on November 12th, as it will launch with the new Xbox One experience update.
How do you feel about November 2015’s free Games with Gold titles? Will you be downloading any or all of them? What do you hope to see be made free to download come December? Sound off in the comments!
