Xbox‘s Games With Gold for June 2017 have been revealed by Microsoft with a line-up that’s certain to be considered the strongest month for the service in a very long time. Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be provided the standard two Xbox One and two Xbox 360 titles in June, with availability dates that alternate between the start of the month and mid-month. Games With Gold is also offering a bonus in June in the form of free DLC for the recently released Phantom Dust.

Here are the four official releases included in June’s Games With Gold:

Xbox One

  • SpeedRunners – June 1 – 30
  • Watch Dogs – June 16 – May 15

Xbox 360

  • Assassin’s Creed 3 – June 1 – 15
  • Dragon Age: Origins – June 1 – 30

As noted, both Xbox 360 offerings are backward compatible and will run on Xbox One just fine. In fact, Assassin’s Creed 3 just had backward compatibility added today in preparation of June’s Games With Gold.

SpeedRunners is side-scrolling multiplayer game where players race, using power-ups to surmount obstacles and impede opponents. The speed and dynamism of the gameplay made it a popular indie release at launch in April 2016. Microsoft’s hoping SpeedRunners will fill the multiplayer void of this month’s Games With Gold titles. It will certainly be a great alternative to take a break with while playing through the other, longer single-player titles this month.

Watch Dogs is the second Games With Gold title for Xbox One in June. That’s the first Watch Dogs, starring Aiden Pearce, and not its recent sequel. The original Watch Dogs is a single-player, third-person action game that has players hacking traffic lights, phones, or whatever is nearby on the fly in order to take down the omnipresent ctOS.

On top of Watch Dogs, Ubisoft’s also delivering a second game this month. Assassin’s Creed 3 is the franchise’s first foray into the Americas. Protagonist Connor may not have gained the prestige of Ezio or even Altair, but Assassin’s Creed 3‘s a stronger title than most recall. The second Xbox 360 game in June is another classic, Dragon Age: Origins. While BioWare’s fantasy franchise was somewhat overshadowed by Mass Effect, Origins is without a doubt the best of the three main games in the series.

Xbox‘s Games With Gold for June start going live on June 1. Make sure to pick up the May titles that remain before the 31, which includes Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams and Lara Croft: Temple of Osiris on Xbox One.
