Gaming giant Xbox promised to release all the games featured at its showcase last year by June 2023, and it succeeded in releasing 74% of them. The 2022 Xbox Showcase was full of exciting game reveals and announcements, with most of the titles on display not only planned for release between then and June 2023, but also expected to be day one Xbox Game Pass games.

Even with the recent failure of co-op shooter game Redfall, there's still a decent amount of hype going into the 2023 Xbox Showcase. This year, fans can look forward to Starfield gameplay reveals and more, though Xbox is keeping quiet about what else it might have in store for those tuning in on Sunday, June 11 at 10am PT.

While Xbox fans wait for June 11 to roll around, it's worth taking a look back at how the company very nearly kept its promise of releasing all the games on display at that show within the next 12 months. According to Twitter account Xbox News for Koreans, 37 out of 50 games shown have been released, with just 13 that have yet to be accounted for. Those missing games include the Xbox version of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, Lightyear Frontier, Party Animals, Starfield, Forza Motorsport, Ara: History Untold, STALKER 2, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, ARK 2, Replaced, Ereban: Shadow Legacy, and Cocoon.

xbox coming in the next 12 months

It's worth pointing out that Hollow Knight: Silksong also made an appearance at last year's Xbox Showcase, with many assuming that it too was meant to be released within 12 months of the event. However, Hollow Knight: Silksong was not actually in the graphic that highlighted all the games coming to Xbox within the 12-month period. Regardless, it was still featured at the 2022 showcase and still has yet to release.

The games that failed to meet their release deadlines have all been delayed, but some of them are still on track to release later this year. One of the most notable is Bethesda's Starfield, which is being positioned as Xbox's next big console exclusive release. Starfield currently has a September 6 release date planned, but time will tell if it will actually meet that date. Starfield is expected to be the centerpiece of the 2023 showcase, so fans should get a much better idea of what kind of state the game is in come next month. Hopefully they're treated to updates on some of the other missing games as well.
