Xbox Game Pass sometimes comes with more perks than free games alone. This time it appears that the bonus is some additional content for Splitgate, the fast-paced first-person shooter. Even though many wonder if Splitgate could be a competitor to Halo Infinite, Xbox is handing away a free bundle for the shooter for Xbox Game Pass members that is filled with weapon skins, banners, and more.

Splitgate is a unique shooter in that it can be compared to Halo, but it also combines gameplay elements of Portal. The FPS itself is not a part of the massive library of Xbox Game Pass titles, as it is a free-to-play game. However, that hasn't stopped Xbox from handing away free goodies for members of the subscription service, which is the case here with the XTREME Perks Bundle.

The XTREME Perks Bundle comes with an Epic Battle Rifle Skin, an Epic Carbine Skin, an Epic Pistol Skin, an Epic Character Skin, and an Epic Banner (although some fans are reporting that the banner may currently be glitched at the moment). All of the Splitgate content is exclusive to Xbox Game Pass members.

Players can claim the free bundle online, and it appears they must actively do so after logging on online with their Xbox accounts. According to information, the bundle will be available until November 30, 2021. With over two months to spare, there is plenty of time to claim the bundle.

Splitgate does support crossplay, meaning the only players who will be rocking the XTREME Perks Bundle content will be Xbox Game Pass users. This is a nice way to show off the gear to players and friends on other platforms. As far as other skins in-game, players can gain XP by playing Splitgate and logging in each day to unlock reward drops.

With Halo Infinite being the massive fall title for Xbox Game Pass, it will be interesting to see how Splitgate performs on Xbox consoles in just a few months. The next Halo game is one of the more anticipated shooters in recent memory, and there is a lot riding on the Master Chief's newest adventure. In the multiplayer realm, Splitgate certainly is inspired by Halo, and Infinite is not shy about turning back the clock with being built around old-school Halo gameplay itself. Both Halo Infinite's multiplayer and Splitgate will be free-to-play, but Xbox will certainly be putting all of its eggs in the Halo basket.

It's exciting to see Xbox Game Pass being used for free content with additional features even outside of the hundreds of free games. Players who are enjoying Splitgate should take advantage of the XTREME Perks Bundle while they have the chance.

Splitgate is in beta on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions also in the works.
