Xbox Game Pass Ultimate combines the benefits of a standard Game Pass subscription and Xbox Live, with a handful of added perks as well, and this results in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers being able to claim Adios from June 1 - June 30 and The Vale: Shadow of the Crown from June 16-July 15. Once claimed, subscribers will be able to keep these Xbox Games with Gold titles at no additional charge.
It should be added that this is because they are part of the Xbox Games with Gold line-up. Technically speaking, fans only need Xbox Live to claim these titles, but Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers get them too. A standard subscription does not. Indeed, Games with Gold isn't as popular as it once was, but since it's packaged in with Xbox Game Pass at the Ultimate tier, "free" is free. Typically, the two games would cost someone $37.98, but not if they are Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.
Adios tells the story of a pig farmer in Kansas who cuts ties with the mob, which had been using him to dispose of bodies on the farm. A friend tries to change his mind, as telling them no means certain death. The game is described as a "a meditative thoughtful game that reflects on morality and spirituality with compelling writing and phenomenal voice acting." Meanwhile, The Vale: Shadow of the Crown is an audio-based action adventure game designed to make players feel the key moments of combat. Thanks to its audio design and haptic feedback, the game ensures players hear their enemy's breath, hear the crunch of footsteps, and hear the clash of weapons.

The Vale: Shadow of the Crown is rated Strong on OpenCritic, with 11 reviews giving it an 82 Top Critic Average and 90% of critics recommending it. Adios comes in a little lower, with 13 reviews seeing it end up with a Fair rating on OpenCritic. Its Top Critic Average is 72, with 62% of critics recommending it.
Overall, their not bad for a perk that is available alongside an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, but fans should be sure to take advantage of them when they can. Beyond access to Games with Gold, for example, a recent Xbox Game Pass Ultimate perk let fans watch WrestleMania 39 for free, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
