The joining of Xbox Game Pass with EA Play was widely met with excitement by current Game Pass Ultimate subscribers on Xbox consoles. EA Play typically costs $4.99 a month, but Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers receive it for free as a benefit of their membership. PC gamers were disappointed to learn that EA Play's Game Pass launch would start solely on consoles, the PC version having been delayed. Yet while EA has yet to announce a new date for EA Play on Game Pass for PC, there's evidence of it happening soon.

Twitter user ALumia_Italia is claiming that they scraped Microsoft's storefront on PC and discovered some interesting new additions. Specifically, they discovered non-public listings for Jade Empire: Special Edition, Populous, and Populous: Trials of the Olympian Gods. All three games are part of the library of titles included with the EA Play subscription. In other words, EA could be building up its EA Play library on PC before unlocking it for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers on PC probably shouldn't assume EA Play will be unlocking any time soon, however. There are dozens of PC games available through EA Play on other PC storefronts. It's likely going to take some time before all of them have been made available through Microsoft storefronts. That could mean that EA Play via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on PC may yet be months away.

Of course, it's also possible that these three games are just the first to arrive of many in a quick fashion. The full library of EA Play games could arrive on the Microsoft store tomorrow and EA could launch Xbox Game Pass Ultimate's EA Play access the day after. That seems like somewhat of an unrealistic pace, but for all anyone knows the work could already have been done and a button might just need to be pressed.

It's unlikely that EA is in any rush to launch EA Play on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, however. There are no major EA PC releases coming up that EA Play users could capitalize on. It Takes Two launches March 26, but after that, it'll be until May before Mass Effect Legendary Edition and Knockout City are available.

In addition to access to the EA Play game library, EA Play grants members early access to most of EA's newest games, as well as 10% off full games, DLC, and even digital currency. Considering it'll be free for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, it'll be a ton of extra value for their existing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions. Expect to hear more about EA Play on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for PC in the weeks and months to come.
