Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass has been one of the company's most successful services to have launched in recent years. It lets gamers experience hundreds of titles ranging from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order to Halo Infinite, all at an impressive price. Now, as the service looks to expand its library of games and build its growing numbers, Xbox Game Pass has announced a surprise title that's scheduled to launch this month. One of the service's biggest selling points is its regularly updated content library, where the company adds new titles to Xbox Game Pass every month. Recently, Microsoft announced a slate of games for Xbox Game Pass in May. This includes the likes of Little Witch in the Woods and Umurangi Generation Special Edition for May 17, while several other titles such as Hardspace: Shipbreaker and Sniper Elite 5 are scheduled towards the end of the month. The latest announcement for upcoming games adds to an already interesting list for Xbox Game Pass.RELATED: Hulu Users Get Free PC Game Pass PerkIn an update on its social media channels, the service announced that gamers should expect Frontier Developments' Jurassic World: Evolution 2 to hit Xbox Game Pass on May 17. The sequel improves on the first Jurassic World: Evolution, where players build their own Jurassic Park complete with a variety of dinosaurs, environments, tools, and a host of other enticing content. As of now, the game is available on PC as well as previous-gen and current-gen consoles.

Although not a lot of hype followed the launch of Xbox Game Pass back in 2017, its appeal has grown significantly over the years, and today the service is viewed as a must-have for a lot of gamers. While a large part of this comes down to its rich library, the success of Game Pass has also stemmed from other offerings such as cloud gaming and releasing first-party Xbox titles on Game Pass on launch day. Now, with the upcoming Xbox and Bethesda games showcase, expectations for Xbox Game Pass continue to grow among fans.

But Xbox's success hasn't gone unnoticed. In fact, others in the industry are already ramping up their subscription service efforts, most notably the likes of Sony. The company announced its own version of Game Pass a few months back, and recently, Ubisoft+ became available for PlayStation Plus and Premium members. Though time will tell how the competition pans out for gaming subscription services in the future. Regardless, Jurassic World: Evolution 2 on Xbox Game Pass promises to pique the interest of Jurassic Park fans, especially in the backdrop of June's Jurassic World Dominion movie.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
