Xbox Game Pass has been very active over the last few months, securing a number of huge games for the service. Due to Microsoft partnering with EA Play, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderthe Mass Effect trilogy, and Star Wars Battlefront 2 all joined the library of Game Pass Ultimate titles, while Resident Evil 7, Doom Eternal, and the Five Nights at Freddy's games made their debut as well.

Yet, it seems the subscription service isn't done bringing aboard notable games for its extensive playerbase, with a new post featured on the company's Twitter hinting that Xbox Game Pass is getting something big in the near future. The cryptic tease is framed to appear like a leaked internal email, where the aptly named "Mellia McGamepass" is addressing her staff.

She goes over the various achievements Game Pass has secured in prior weeks, including bring EA's titles to the service and building up the library of experiences featured on Xbox's cloud gaming beta. Yet, she goes on to reveal that the company is getting ready to shift a highly-requested new title on Game Pass, although its name in the image is obscured by a red sticker reading "redacted." Players do have a little more to go off, however, as Melissa claims that she'd sent her staff a gif regarding the game that featured a "sinister red light."

Fans set to work immediately trying to find additional hints as to what this secret new game could be. Seeing as the last hint framed in this format revealed Doom Eternal was on the way when the color was inverted, (highlighting the phrase "The Slayer is Coming") that was the first stop for those playing detective. Xbox clearly accounted for this though, hilariously leaving the message "you really think we'd put the tease here again?" in its place. It seems many have an idea of what the title will be without any need for further clues, however, with the prevailing theory being the addition of Control.

For one, the sinister red light mentioned by Melissa sounds very reminiscent of the seminal mark of the game's antagonists, with the monstrous Hiss usually popping up after the player enters a room illuminated with a crimson glow. It is also a game that fans have been asking after for a while, especially as Remedy Entertainment's action-packed third-person shooter was one of last year's biggest games. That being said, Xbox hasn't come out and confirmed anything just yet, so it'll be interesting to see whether the Control theories are proved correct in the coming days.
