Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass is regularly updated, adding new titles each month so that subscribers can get their money's worth, In August 2018, the line-up of new additions to Game Pass included Capcom's zombie-killing action title Dead Rising 2, season one of Hitman, and some family-friendly fare in the form of Kinect Rush: A Disney Pixar Adventure.

In September 2018, the new Xbox Game Pass titles look even stronger. The headline title is Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which includes upgrades and remastered versions of four Halo games including Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4. The Master Chief Collection recently received a major update that includes improved matchmaking, support for offline LAN, and fixes for game-breaking bugs. It should mean that the collection of games runs smoothly once it arrives on Xbox Game Pass on September 1.

Another major Xbox title hitting Game Pass on September 1 is Quantum Break. The time-bending, third-person action title reviewed incredibly well when it made its debut back in 2016. Critics specifically highlighted the talent of its cast, brilliant set pieces and its immersive environment. The game was criticized for its lack of replay value and while that may put off people buying the game outright, that shouldn't be a huge concern to Game Pass subscribers.

Also arriving on September 1 is charming puzzle platformer Snake Pass. Snake Pass has been a hit on Nintendo Switch, but its inclusion in Game Pass may help the game become a bigger success on Xbox One as well. Meanwhile, on September 5, Codemaster's frantic racer Onrush will be available on Xbox Game Pass. The game has been compared to Motorstorm due to their similar gravity-defying styles and the arcadey nature of the racing so those looking for that sort of experience on Xbox One will be delighted.

Other games arriving on Xbox Game Pass in September 2018 are listed below, along with the dates that they will become available:

  • Aven Colony (September 1)
  • Manual Samuel (September 1)
  • Sky Force Reloaded (September 1)
  • Shadow Warrior 1 (September 1)
  • Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams (September 1)
  • InnerSpace (September 1)

It's worth noting that some other games included on Xbox Game Pass are Rare's sea-faring adventure Sea of Thieves, open-world zombie sandbox State of Decay 2, and Bethesda RPG Fallout 4. Microsoft now adds first-party games to Xbox Game Pass on launch, too, meaning that games like Halo: Infinite and Crackdown 3 will arrive on the service too once they're released.
