Xbox Game Pass subscribers are now able to pre-download EA Play titles. Gamers can access the games on November 10, the same day as the launch of the Xbox Series X.

Xbox and EA announced a partnership only a few months ago, bringing EA Play to Xbox Game Pass for free. The partnership continues to bolster Xbox Game Pass's already impressive selection of titles.

The Verge's Tom Warren posted a tweet stating that Game Pass subscribers can start loading up EA Play's catalog before next week's launch. Players can download the games, but they unfortunately won't be playable until November 10. Although Xbox Game Pass is losing four games later this month, the incoming EA titles more than supplement the overall selection. Some of the available titles through EA Play are:

  • NFS Heat
  • Madden 20
  • Battlefield V
  • Star Wars Battlefront II
  • Dead Space 3
  • Dragon Age: Inquisition
  • Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville
  • Anthem
  • Rocket Arena
  • Sims 4

While Xbox Game Pass and EA Play's partnership is good for gamers, the elephant in the room for Xbox is the absence of a triple-A flagship exclusive title to help anchor the new consoles' release. While it was set to be Halo Infinite, the game (which just lost its second director in two years) has been delayed until 2021. However, since Microsoft's recent acquisition of several game studios in addition to EA Play, there's likely to be something for every gamer. Xbox has assembled quite the expansive line of titles playable at launch in Infinite's absence.

Microsoft and Xbox appear to be investing heavily in their efforts to dominate the gaming space. Apart from their heavily reported studio buying spree, Xbox Game Pass now has EA Play for free. In addition, subscribers are also getting free anime with their Game Pass Ultimate subscription. It is pretty hard to find a better or more accessible gaming subscription currently available. Microsoft gaming is in effect everywhere that gamers are, accessible from a console, PC, or even streamed via xCloud.

Gamers who don't own an Xbox console, or are Switch or PlayStation players may be in luck (eventually). Xbox head Phil Spencer has stated that he is open to the idea of bringing Xbox Game Pass to Switch and PS4. The cross-platform idea naturally raises a few questions, however, leading some to wonder about the future of Xbox exclusives and Xbox Game Pass. At this time, gamers will just have to wait and see what the future holds.

EA Play launches on Xbox Game Pass on November 10.
