Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass subscription service has been on a roll all year, with new day one games added to the lineup regularly. May 2022 has so far kept the Xbox Game Pass hot streak alive, as Microsoft has already added new day one Xbox Game Pass for subscribers to check out. More new games will be added to Xbox Game Pass at various points in May, but one day in particular stands out as particularly noteworthy this month.

The next day that Xbox Game Pass subscribers can expect new games to be added to the service is Tuesday, May 10, and as it so happens, that may also very well be the busiest day for the service this month. It's true that Microsoft hasn't fully pulled the curtain back on its plans for Xbox Game Pass in the second half of May, though, so it's possible another day will outdo it. But for now, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will want to keep an eye on May 10.

Usually any given day that sees new Xbox Game Pass additions only include one or maybe two games. However, May 10 will see three new games added to the Xbox Game Pass lineup, with one of the new games being a day one release. On Tuesday, May 10, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can check out Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition, Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising, and This War of Mine: Final Cut.

Danganronpa 2 Nagito Komaeda

Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition is a quirky visual novel game that earned positive reviews at the time of its original release. The Anniversary Edition features a new Gallery mode for fans to check out and enjoys various other improvements. It's not labeled as a day one game by Xbox, but May 10 does indeed mark the first time that the game will be available on Xbox One, so it could arguably be considered one as well.

In any case, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition is the second game in the series to make its way to Xbox Game Pass. Previously, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition was added to the lineup, so now Xbox Game Pass users can experience the first two games in the series. The only thing left will be for Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony to be added, and one has to imagine that its addition is just a matter of time.

Joining Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition on Xbox Game Pass on May 10 is day one release Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising. Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is an action-RPG that serves as a prequel to Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. For those unfamiliar with Eiyuden Chronicle, the games are made by the creator of Suikoden, and share a lot in common with that cult classic JRPG franchise.

There's a great deal of hype for Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes especially, and it too will be a day one Xbox Game Pass game when it releases in 2023. One of the most successful Kickstarter gaming projects of all time, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is hotly anticipated by Suikoden fans. Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising should help whet fans' appetites while they wait for the main course, helping them learn more about the Eiyuden Chronicle world in the process.

And finally, May 10 will also see the addition of This War of Mine: Final Cut to the Xbox Game Pass lineup. This War of Mine is a survival strategy game that has earned praise for not shying away from the horrific realties of war. It's a bleak experience, but one with an important message. It comes from the same studio that developed Frostpunk, so fans of that game may want to give it a shot. Final Cut is the latest version of the game as well, so even those that have already played the base version of This War of Mine may want to give it another look once it hits the Xbox Game Pass subscription service on May 10.

Three new game releases should go a long way in keeping Xbox Game Pass subscribers busy on May 10, but May 10 is busy for more reasons than just the new games that are being added to the lineup. It's also notable because it will see a game leaving the Xbox Game Pass roster as well. As it so happens, May 10 is the last day that Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - The Definitive Edition through their subscription. Afterwards, anyone that wants to keep playing it will need to buy it to keep.

The good news is that Xbox Game Pass games are available at a discount while they're on the service. So anyone that wants to keep Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - The Definitive Edition after it leaves Xbox Game Pass on May 10 can pick it up at a 20% discount.

Between San Andreas leaving and three new games being added, May 10 is shaping up to be one of the busiest days for the service all month. When Microsoft reveals its Xbox Game Pass plans for the second half of May 2022, it will be interesting to see if another day in May turns out to be even busier for subscribers.
