When it comes to adding new games to its Xbox Game Pass subscription service, Microsoft tends to spread things out a bit, releasing titles throughout the month instead of all at once. However, there are certainly some days that prove to be exceptions to that rule, and Thursday, January 20 is one of those days. January 20 is going to be huge for Xbox Game Pass, and will in fact likely turn out to be one of the biggest days that the service has all year.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers have a ton to look forward to on January 20, including a whopping four day one releases and six new games in total. The new Xbox Game Pass additions on January 20 include some critically-acclaimed, highly-regarded titles as well, so fans are set to get some compelling experiences come tomorrow.

Here are all the games coming to Xbox Game Pass on Thursday, January 20, 2022.

Xbox Game Pass Games Launching January 20

  • Death's Door - January 20 (Cloud/Console/PC)
  • Hitman Trilogy - January 20 (Console/PC)
  • Pupperazzi - January 20 (Cloud/Console/PC)
  • Rainbow Six Extraction - January 20 (Cloud/Console/PC)
  • Rainbow Six Siege - January 20 (PC)
  • Windjammers 2 - January 20 (Cloud/Console/PC)

First up is Death's Door, a Zelda-like game that earned widespread positive reviews and was hailed as one of the best games released in all of 2021. Death's Door combines Zelda-style gameplay with Dark Souls-inspired atmosphere to create a uniquely engrossing experience that fans of both franchises should enjoy. Regardless if one is a Zelda or Dark Souls fan, though, Death's Door has a lot to offer, with creative character designs and a series of memorable boss fights that will give players a serious challenge. Out of all the games coming to Xbox Game Pass on January 20, Death's Door has the highest review scores and is definitely one of the more compelling options.

But Death's Door isn't the only critically-acclaimed 2021 game coming to Xbox Game Pass on January 20, 2022. It's joined by Hitman 3, which is coming as part of the new Hitman Trilogy release. Hitman Trilogy counts as a day one Xbox Game Pass game because even though the games in the collection have all been previously released, January 20 marks the first time that they are releasing in one package, and they're making their debut through Game Pass. Hitman Trilogy combines the Hitman 1 through 3 games that IO Interactive released over the last few years, giving fans a chance to experience the entire trilogy from start to finish.

Another day one Xbox Game Pass game coming on January 20 is Pupperazzi, a quirky indie game where the goal is to snap photographs of dogs. Pupperazzi is meant to be a more laid-back and relaxing experience when compared to Death's Door and the Hitman Trilogy, so there's plenty of variety in the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass on January 20. Fans of Pokemon Snap especially may want to consider giving day one Xbox Game Pass game Pupperazzi a look once it hits the service.

The headlining new game coming to Xbox Game Pass on January 20 is definitely Rainbow Six Extraction, though, as it's one of the first big new triple-A game releases of the year. Rainbow Six Extraction is taking the franchise in a risky new direction, dropping any pretense of the realism that the series otherwise goes for in favor of embracing a horror/science-fiction narrative. In this co-op focused game, players have to work together as various Rainbow Six operators to fight back against a hostile alien threat, save hostages, and complete objectives. Time will tell if Rainbow Six Extraction finds the same sizable audience as Siege did back in the day, but it will definitely be interesting to see what happens.

In the meantime, those that are subscribed to PC Game Pass have another Rainbow Six treat in store, as Rainbow Six Siege is coming to that version of the subscription service on January 20. Rainbow Six Siege has been available for the console version of Xbox Game Pass for quite some time, but now it will be available to all Game Pass subscribers regardless of their platform of choice.

And finally, the last game confirmed for Xbox Game Pass on January 20 and another day one release, Windjammers 2 is set to launch tomorrow as well. Windjammers 2 is the sequel to the classic arcade sports game Windjammers, which originally released in the 90s but has since enjoyed a resurgence in popularity. Windjammers 2 is looking to capitalize on the positive buzz surrounding the original game, and it being available on Xbox Game Pass on the day of its launch should ensure that it reaches the widest audience possible.

With all these new games dropping on January 20, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have to make some tough decisions about what to play first. And this is just the tip of the iceberg; there should be plenty of more new Xbox Game Pass releases throughout the rest of the year as well.
