Halo Infinite’s campaign is finally out in the wild, with Master Chief’s latest adventure receiving tons of praise and good reviews. For some, the best part is that it’s out on Xbox Game Pass and can be played absolutely free. Game Pass could have taken it easy for the rest of the month, and it would have been just fine. However, Xbox Game Pass is not one to rest on its laurels.

Xbox Game Pass has announced a selection of 10 games arriving on the service on December 16, with a total of five games set to leave at the end of the month. Of course, Aliens: Fireteam Elite is joining today, Among Us is also coming to Game Pass tomorrow, December 15, and The Gunk has already been announced, but it’s still a strong line-up for the month. The ten on Thursday really just take the cake for this week's 12 games.

For December 16, Xbox Game Pass is adding the following games:

  • Ben 10: Power Trip
  • Broken Age
  • Firewatch
  • The Gunk
  • Lake
  • Mortal Kombat 11
  • Paw Patrol Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay
  • Race With Ryan
  • Record of Lodoss War
  • Transformers: Battlegrounds

Notably, there is a pretty strong mixture here, but it does lean heavily on children’s games with Ben 10, Paw Patrol, and Race With Ryan. For any parents out there looking to get their kids started, these are some solid games. Race With Ryan is incredibly popular, thanks to the popularity of Ryan’s World, and it’s essentially a more child-friendly version of Mario Kart (parents can even add auto acceleration and steering).

Broken Age is a beloved Double Fine game, Firewatch can be an emotional journey, and Mortal Kombat 11 is certainly not for children. Of course, some games have to go, and Xbox Game Pass is removing five before the end of the month:

  • Yakuza 0
  • Yakuza Kiwami 1
  • Yakuza Kiwami 2
  • The Little Acre
  • Pro Evolution Soccer 2021

For many, the big loss may be the selection of Yakuza games, as they are incredibly popular and were a welcome addition to Xbox Game Pass. Luckily, these games won’t be leaving the service until the end of the month/year, so if fans have been putting off playing them, now may be the best chance. It should be noted that each game is pretty lengthy, so interested subscribers should play them as soon as possible.

Overall, with 2021 coming to an end, it’s clear Xbox Game Pass has had a pretty strong year. It’ll be interesting to see what’s in store for 2022.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers get a handful of free games every month.
