There are many reasons for Xbox users to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass, but one of the service's main selling points is its day one games. While Microsoft adds a variety of games across many different eras to its Xbox Game Pass service, what really gets players' interest are the day one games that are made readily available to play through Xbox Game Pass on the very day that they launch. A slew of day one Xbox Game Pass games are on deck for 2022, with Microsoft adding two more to the lineup today.

The Xbox Game Pass subscription service has added two more day one games as of January 13, 2022. This includes Spelunky 2, which has technically been available for other platforms since last year, but is just now launching for Xbox consoles. Spelunky 2 earned critical acclaim at the time of its release and is in fact one of the highest-rated games that released in all of 2020, so it should make a great addition to the Xbox Game Pass lineup.

Spelunky 2 is joined by co-op shooter The Anacrusis, which is launching as an early access game. The Anacrusis has been compared to games like Left 4 Dead, so fans of that franchise should definitely consider giving it a look through Game Pass.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers should be kept plenty busy with the new day one Xbox Game Pass games added today, but there's even more on deck for next week. January 18 will see the launch of Nobody Saves the World on Xbox Game Pass, the latest game from Drinkbox Studios, and one that looks like it could be one of the better early 2022 releases. Then January 20 is going to see even more games added to Xbox Game Pass, including multiple day one titles.

January 20 is going to be an especially big day for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as fans have at least three day one games to look forward to in the form of Pupperazzi, Windjammers 2, and Rainbow Six Extraction. It's also recently been confirmed that Hitman Trilogy, which collects the three most recent Hitman games, will also be available on Game Pass come the 20th.

And those games are really just the tip of the iceberg. It's likely that Microsoft has even more new Xbox Game Pass games coming in January 2022 that have yet to be revealed, so subscribers should stay tuned for more information.
