Microsoft will reportedly add a critically acclaimed game from 2022 to the Xbox Game Pass library. Xbox Game Pass members get access to a handful of games every month across a variety of genres, with some of them launching as day one releases.
Microsoft had earlier revealed the list of games coming to Xbox Game Pass in December 2022. It confirmed that titles like LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Metal: Hellsinger, High on Life, and Eastward among others would join the lineup this month. This selection already features some noteworthy releases from 2022, and a new rumor suggests that Xbox Game Pass will soon add one of the most critically acclaimed games from this year.
Nick from XboxEra claims that Neon White is set to come to Xbox Game Pass in the future. Neon White currently has a score of 90 on Metacritic, making it one of the highest-rated new releases from 2022. It’s a fast-paced first-person action game that originally came out on PC and the Switch in June 2022. Neon White was recently confirmed to launch on PS5 and PS4 on December 13, so it may release on Xbox consoles as well. However, all rumors should be taken with a grain of salt, and fans will have to wait for a final confirmation from Microsoft.
Xbox has added many critically acclaimed third-party games and indie titles to Xbox Game Pass in recent years. As a more recent example, Inside came to Xbox Game Pass in July 2022. Inside received rave reviews upon its launch in 2016, and it’s currently one of the highest-rated indie games of all time.
Rumors regarding new additions to Xbox Game Pass often end up coming true, but some of them do not see the light of day. For example, a leak from November suggested that AEW: Fight Forever would come to Xbox Game Pass as a day one release, but it has since been confirmed as false.
Subscribers should note that Hot Wheels Unleashed was set to launch on Xbox Game Pass on December 15, but its inclusion has been delayed. Hot Wheels Unleashed was one of the free monthly PS Plus games for October 2022, so there seems to be some overlap between the two services. There is currently no set date for Hot Wheels Unleashed coming to the Xbox Game Pass lineup, and players will have to wait for Microsoft to share the updated release plans.
Neon White is available now for PC and Switch, with PS4 and PS5 versions launching December 13.
