Yet another game developer has announced that its upcoming release will be offered as a Day One title on Xbox Game Pass, for both PC and consoles. It's become a growing trend for game developers to publicly announce Xbox Game Pass partnerships without Xbox itself joining in on the reveal. Xbox's pursuit of a diverse range of titles for Xbox Game Pass has proven mutually beneficial, with the subscription service delivering an audience excited for new games and willing to experiment.A wave of new Xbox Game Pass titles has been delivered recently, leading to an impressive schedule for early 2023. January will round out with several major additions to the platform, including GoldenEye 007, the console edition of Age of Empires 2, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle R. February will then start with three big additions, as Darkest Dungeon, Grid Legends, and Hot Wheels Unleashed join the subscription service.RELATED: Xbox Game Pass Just Added One of 2021's Best GamesThe newly confirmed Xbox Game Pass title won't be arriving until May, however. From developer CyberConnect2, Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 has been announced as a Day One Xbox Game Pass release. Its official release date is May 11, and it will be made available on both Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 is a unique turn-based RPG, where a group of children adventure together while living in a humongous tank. Not is there tank combat, as the children battle for their survival in a frightening world, but players will have to scour for resources and socialize among the group, as well. It's the war story at the heart of Fuga: Melodies of Steel that has captured its audience, however. Needless to say, twelve children in a tank battling to survive is not a healthy living situation.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers interested in seeing whether Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 is something they might want to try can play the original game right now. Fuga: Melodies of Steel is currently included with Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass. It must have proven successful, if CyberConnect2 is taking the opportunity to make Fuga's sequel a Day One release on the service.

Naturally, Xbox Game Pass isn't just useful in bringing new players to the game. Just having a game on Xbox Game Pass rarely seems like enough for developers to justify. Fuga: Melodies of Steel has several DLC packs available, too, including several Costume Packs for its characters and a Deluxe Edition upgrade, as well. These are not included with Xbox Game Pass, and likely hint that Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 will be monetized in different ways when it launches in May.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 arrives May 11 on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, as well as via Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.
