Microsoft has yet to reveal all the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass in March 2023, but release date announcements have confirmed at least four titles coming to the service next month. Xbox Game Pass adds new games on a monthly basis, with Microsoft typically highlighting them every two weeks or so. March 2023 will likely stick to that pattern.

That being said, it's always possible that Microsoft will surprise Xbox Game Pass subscribers with how it handles the March 2023 game announcements. Ever since the start of the new year, the new Xbox Game Pass game announcements have broken from their established pattern, with it becoming increasingly unpredictable as to when the new games will be announced for the service. With all the new Xbox Game Pass games for February 2023 already revealed, though, March marks an opportunity for Microsoft to get things back on track.

While fans wait for the official Xbox Game Pass March 2023 reveal, previous release date announcements have confirmed that Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, Valheim, MLB The Show 23, and Way to the Woods are all coming to the service as day one releases. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will join the Xbox Game Pass lineup on March 3, while the console version of Valheim hits Xbox on March 14. MLB The Show 23 joins on March 28, and Way to the Woods is planned to launch next month as well, though it does not have a specific release date at the time of this writing.

New Xbox Game Pass Games for March 2023

Wo-Long: Fallen Dynasty Trailer Reveals Incredible Combat, Monsters, and Pre-Order Bonuses
  • Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty - March 3
  • Valheim - March 14
  • MLB The Show 23 - March 28
  • Way to the Woods - TBA

Out of all the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass in March 2023, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty might turn the most heads. Developed by Team Ninja, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is a new Soulslike game that uses a fantastical version of China's Three Kingdoms period as its setting. Team Ninja has proven itself to be rather adept at making Soulslike games, with its Nioh titles perhaps the most critically-acclaimed Soulslikes not developed by genre originator FromSoftware. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is one of the biggest new game releases of March 2023, and if it lives up to the high bar set by Team Ninja's previous Soulslike games, it has potential to be one of the best games to hit Game Pass all year.

Wo Long is coming to Game Pass on March 3, and while there will likely be many more Game Pass games added in the first two weeks of March, most of them have not been announced yet. Fans do know that they can look forward to the Xbox console debut of Valheim, at least. Valheim is a Minecraft-style survival game with a Norse mythology theme. Valheim exploded in popularity during its 2021 early access release, becoming one of Steam's biggest games in the process. Valheim still does not have a release date for its full release, but soon Xbox console gamers can see what all the fuss is about with the early access version. Those with a PC Game Pass subscription can play Valheim right now if they can't wait for its Xbox console debut on March 14.

The rest of March 2023 is mostly unknown when it comes to new Xbox Game Pass releases, though there are a couple more exceptions. March 28 will see the launch of MLB The Show 23 on Xbox Game Pass, which is notable because the game is developed by a Sony-owned studio. MLB The Show 23 is the latest installment in the long-running baseball game franchise, and marks yet another entry that's making its debut on Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass service as a day one release. Essentially, this means Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play a big first-party PlayStation game on day one of its release without paying anything beyond their Game Pass subscription fee. So even though sports games don't appeal to everyone, MLB The Show 23 should still be one of the bigger Xbox Game Pass additions for March 2023.

And finally, the fourth and final game currently confirmed for Xbox Game Pass in March 2023 is day one indie game Way to the Woods. Way to the Woods is a unique twist on a post-apocalyptic game, putting players in the role of deer that explore an abandoned civilization. Way to the Woods has impressed with its unique art style and premise, and Xbox Game Pass subscribers should soon be able to see if it lives up to expectations.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers should keep in mind that these four games are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to day one March 2023 releases. Microsoft will have more to share about the new Xbox Game Pass games for March 2023 sooner rather than later.
