Microsoft confirmed seven games will be leaving the Xbox Game Pass subscription service by the end of March. Xbox Game Pass subscribers interested in playing these seven games at no additional cost must do so before April 2023 begins.

The Xbox Game Pass service receives new additions every month including new first-party releases by Xbox Game Studios and recent third-party releases. Thus far, six day one releases for Xbox Game Pass have already been confirmed for April 2023. One of these new Xbox Game Pass releases includes Ghostwire: Tokyo, a former PlayStation 5 console-exclusive by Bethesda Softworks and Tango Gameworks. Various games will leave the service by the end of the month to make way for new releases, however.

Microsoft shared an update with Xbox Game Pass subscribers via the Xbox app, revealing seven PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S games are leaving the service soon. These seven games are A Memoir Blue, Chinatown Detective Agency, Clustertruck, Double Dragon Neon, Kraken Academy!!, MLB The Show 22, and Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid. These games are expected to leave Xbox Game Pass by March 31, but exact timing of their removal may vary slightly by title.

Once games are removed from the Xbox Game Pass service, the game must be purchased in order to continue playing. Fortunately, save data from the game is left intact, so players may pick up from where they left off after purchasing the game. In addition, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can get a discount of at least 20% off these select titles before its removal. Members can also expect a direct replacement for one of the games being removed from Xbox Game Pass as well.

MLB The Show 23 will be available on release day for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, so a potential removal of MLB The Show 22 before March 28 was expected. Players still have roughly two weeks to check out the other six titles before a new lineup of games makes its way to Xbox Game Pass in the coming weeks.

Microsoft will likely continue to give subscribers a notice before an Xbox Game Pass title is removed from the service. PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S games may return to Xbox Game Pass in the future, and discounts may soften the blow of losing access to certain games. Microsoft is expected to reveal more games coming to Xbox Game Pass as the latter half of March 2023 comes to an end.
