The last two days of August were quite eventful for Xbox Game Pass. August 30 saw some major additions, including Immortality which has received rave reviews. August 31, though, saw 10 games leave the service, which is double the normal amount. But to make it worse, Hades was leading the bunch, and it's considered one of the best games of 2020.

With that behind fans now, many are looking forward to September. Xbox Game Pass already had a few games confirmed for September, but the company has yet to reveal its slate of games coming in the first half of the month and leaving in the latter half. The announcement isn't likely to happen over the weekend either, and with September 5 being Labor Day, it'll likely be September 6 before fans learn for sure. However, thanks to the Game Pass dashboard, fans may already know what is leaving next month.

This wouldn't be the first time fans received an Xbox Game Pass update via the Dashboard before an official announcement, but fans should still take this information with some skepticism. After all, it's likely that all of these games are leaving on September 15, yet there are 11 of them. This is an odd number, given that 5 usually leave and 10 was a big deal. At the same time, it could be that this is for the whole month or it could be that one of these is wrong/was changed for the official announcement but accidentally left in the dashboard. Either way, fans should wait for the official announcement, but playing these games before September 15 (if fans were wanting to) would be wise.

Xbox Game Pass Titles Seemingly Leaving September 15 List

  • A Plague Tale: Innocence
  • Aragami 2
  • Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling
  • Craftopia
  • Final Fantasy 13
  • Flynn: Son of Crimson
  • I Am Fish
  • Lost Words: Beyond The Page
  • Mighty Goose
  • SkateBIRD
  • The Artful Escape

Of course, assuming this is as legit as it seems, the biggest losses are A Plague Tale: Innocence and Final Fantasy 13. The latter may not be the most popular entry in the franchise, but it is a Final Fantasy game nonetheless. The former is perhaps the most perplexing, as its sequel, A Plague Tale: Requiem releases day one on Xbox Game Pass in October. Losing the original game prior to then is an odd move, but fans should be able to beat it before September 15 should they so choose.

Still, it's a solid lineup of games leaving Xbox Game Pass, which of course only makes it sadder. The Artful Escape, Skatebird, Craftopia, Bug Fables, and Aragami 2 have all been praised for one thing or another, and for many, it may be worth checking out some of these as soon as possible.
