Yesterday, the official Twitter account of the Xbox Game Pass teased its subscribers that a new game coming to the online streaming service will be revealed today. As promised, the Xbox Game Pass announced that it will be adding Hello Games' No Man's Sky to the service.

As announced on Xbox Wire, subscribers of the Xbox Game Pass will be able to stream No Man's Sky this coming June. To the uninitiated, No Man's Sky was first released in 2016 for the PC and PS4, before heading to the Xbox One in July 2018. Prior to its release, many players were hyped with the game's premise, which mostly revolves around exploration and survival set on a remote planet.

Unfortunately, just a few weeks after its release, No Man's Sky faced major backlash due to a lack of content. Although the game was able to deliver on its promise of 18 quintillion explorable planets, players and critics called out the game for the absence of an immersive story and variation in its core gameplay, resulting to No Man's Sky losing 90% of its players at the time, with many calling the game as boring and repetitive.

Since then, Hello Games provided constant free updates to No Man's Sky that drastically improved the gameplay experience of players, and the game slowly regained popularity once again. Apart from some small quality of life changes, Hello Games also introduced two massive content updates called Beyond and Next, which definitely helped No Man's Sky's ruined reputation. Additionally, the game received a VR version, multiplayer, new alien races, and just recently, the Living Ship and Exo-Mech updates.

As for what's next in No Man's Sky, developer Hello Games recently laid out its ambitious plans for future content updates. In a statement released by Hello Games, founder Sean Murray said that starting with the Synthesis update, the studio is planning to release even more content updates to No Man's Sky in the remainder of 2020.

Furthermore, Murray also shared how the team was able to push out four substantial content updates in a span of only five months, which is a testament of what is to come for No Man's Sky in the near future. Of course, with the game's release to the Xbox Game Pass next month, it is likely that No Man's Sky will reach an even wider player base, which could just propel the game to an even higher level of success.

No Man's Sky is out now for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and will be released to the Xbox Game Pass in June 2020.
