Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass service is an early indicator of how the company will likely wind up doing business in the future. The company has expressed interest in becoming a sort of Netflix for games, and the Game Pass service is certainly a major step in achieving that goal. The company announced some new additions to the service's library today, making it an even better deal for gamers.

One of the games joining the library, Blazing Chrome, is a new release. It isn't a triple-a title, but any fans of the Contra series should feel right at home with its sidescrolling shooter mechanics and high skill curve. Of course, that isn't the only new addition that Microsoft announced. Dead Rising 4 is another major new addition to the game subscription service and should keep fans of the zombie apocalypse satisfied for quite some time. Dead Rising 4 reviews weren't incredible when the game released, but its definitely worth checking out for anyone that holds an active subscription to Game Pass. Both games are available to subscribers on PC or Console.

In addition, subscribers will on PC will gain access to Timespanner, while console players will be able to play Lego City: Undercover. These additions may not be as big of a deal as the other two, but it is nice that Microsoft is trying to get a wide variety of games added onto the service.

All four games are available on the service today, so subscribers should be able to download them right now. It's up to fans to decide if Game Pass is worth it, though the service does boast an impressive library for the monthly cost.

During their E3 Press conference, Microsoft announced Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which bundles Xbox Live Gold with Game Pass for both PC and console for $15 a month. It's the best bang for your buck for players with multiple gaming machines in their homes, offering them a variety of ways to play. Microsoft was running a promotion that allowed players to convert up to 36 months of Xbox Live Gold to the ultimate version for a while, but, unfortunately, it has now ended.
