Unfortunately for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, a whopping 11 games are leaving the service after today. Microsoft makes sure that new games are constantly added to the Xbox Game Pass lineup, but games leave the service in batches a couple of times a month as well, typically on the 15th and last day.

Those subscribed to vanilla Game Pass will be losing 10 games today, while those subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will be losing 11 games. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is the highest-priced tier of Xbox Game Pass. It combines the benefits of Xbox Live Gold with Game Pass, and it also includes access to EA Play games. So not only is Xbox Game Pass Ultimate losing the 10 games that vanilla Game Pass is giving up, but it's also losing an 11th title in the form of Rory McIlroy PGA Tour, available through EA Play.

The other games leaving Xbox Game Pass today are Aliens: Fireteam Elite, Breathedge, Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age, Firewatch, Lake, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4, Neoverse, Race With Ryan, Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labryinth, and Transformers: Battlegrounds. Xbox Game Pass subscribers have until the end of the day to play these games, and they can also decide to purchase them at a 20% discount if they so desire.

While it's a bummer that any of these games are leaving Xbox Game Pass, a few are going to be particularly painful for subscribers. Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age is a critically-acclaimed JRPG, one of the highest-rated in years, and so its departure is sure to disappoint fans of the genre. The bright side is a new JRPG-style game is available on Game Pass called Chained Echoes, and it has rave reviews, but it's certainly a smaller-scale project compared to DQ11.

Firewatch is another notable game that's leaving Xbox Game Pass after today. A so-called "walking simulator," Firewatch nevertheless earned critical acclaim for its performances and story. It's one of the most notable indie game releases of the last decade, and so it's definitely disappointing to see it getting the boot.

It's not all bad news for Xbox Game Pass subscribers today, though. While these games are all being removed, Xbox Game Pass is also adding a new game to its lineup in the form of Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan.
