Microsoft likes to release and remove its Xbox Game Pass games in batches. What typically happens is some Xbox Game Pass games are removed in the middle of the month, around the 15th, and then another set of games are given the boot at the end of the month. Microsoft has already removed some Xbox Game Pass games in October 2021, and now it's confirmed 10 more titles that are leaving the subscription service at the end of October.

Microsoft has not announced a specific removal date for the 10 additional games leaving Xbox Game Pass in October 2021, but it the games will most likely be removed on October 30 or October 31. The games consist of some pretty well-received titles that subscribers may want to check out before they're removed, along with some horror games that would be perfect to play for the Halloween season while they're still available.

Perhaps the most notable game being removed from Xbox Game Pass later in October is Celeste. Celeste is a 2D platformer that originally released in 2018 to widespread critical acclaim. Celeste took home numerous awards in the year of its release, including Best Independent Game at The Game Awards. It has an impressive 92 average critic rating, so it's definitely something that Game Pass subscribers will want to prioritize.

The horror games being removed from Xbox Game Pass latger in October include four titles in the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise. It seems the first four Five Nights at Freddy's games are being removed across consoles and Xbox Game Pass for PC. For those who may be unfamiliar with the franchise, it's a horror series built on jump scares, where twisted versions of Chuck E. Cheese-style animatronics torment the player.

Meanwhile, co-op minded Xbox Game Pass gamers have a couple of titles they may want to check out before they're gone, too. Knights and Bikes is an indie adventure game that earned mostly positive reviews at the time of its release, whereas Unruly Heroes is a 2D beat 'em up/platformer that was similarly well-received. Again, exact removal dates for these games aren't available at the time of this writing, but the most likely scenario is that they will all be gone come October 30 or October 31.

In the meantime, Microsoft is also adding new games to the Xbox Game Pass service in the second half of October. The full lineup has yet to be revealed, but subscribers can look forward to Moonglow Bay on October 26 and Age of Empires 4 on October 28.
