Microsoft adds new games to its Xbox Game Pass subscription service every month, but it also removes titles from Xbox Game Pass regularly as well. To date, Microsoft has confirmed six games that will be leaving Xbox Game Pass on October 15, 2021, with another batch likely to be removed at the end of the month.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers understandably want to get the most of their subscriptions, and may be wondering if they have time to complete some of these games before they're removed from the lineup. Most of the games leaving Xbox Game Pass in the middle of October are relatively short, but there's one that will take a serious time commitment if Xbox Game Pass subscribers want to play it all the way through to its end credits.

Xbox Game Pass Games Leaving October 2021

Tales-of-Vesperia more than stands the test of time
  • Gonner2 (Console/PC) - 6.5 hours
  • Heave Ho (PC) - 3 hours
  • Katana Zero (Console/PC) - 4.5 hours
  • ScourgeBringer (Console/PC) - 7 hours
  • Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition (Console/PC) - 45.5 hours
  • The Swords of Ditto: Momo's Curse (PC) - 6.5 hours

Total: 73 hours

Out of all the games leaving Xbox Game Pass on October 15, the two that subscribers may want to prioritize are Katana Zero and Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition. While the other games leaving are definitely worth a look at all, Katana Zero and Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition stand out as they earned higher critical review scores than the other games on the list.

Katana Zero is a 2D action game where players slice and dice their way through countless enemies while attempting to carry out assassinations. While that sounds pretty straightforward, Katana Zero has some bizarre story developments and everything isn't nearly as straightforward as it seems. Throw in a time loop gimmick and it's easy to see why Katana Zero was so well-received at the time of its initial release.

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition, meanwhile, will take the biggest time commitment, and it's quite likely that Xbox Game Pass subscribers wanting to beat it will run out of time before they're able to do so. It's one of the most well-received entries in the Tales of franchise of games. It offers a sprawling JRPG adventure and like most games in the Tales of series, it's playable in co-op as well as single-player.
