Day one Xbox Game Pass Amnesia: The Bunker has been delayed from May 23 to June 6. Amnesia: The Bunker is the latest installment in the acclaimed Amnesia series of horror titles from Frictional Games.

The original Amnesia is often regarded as a masterpiece of its genre. It was followed up by a well-received expansion, an indirect sequel developed by The Chinese Room, and a direct sequel called Amnesia: Rebirth. All the Amnesia games have earned positive reviews, so it's no surprise that Xbox Game Pass subscribers and fans on other platforms are anxious to play Amnesia: The Bunker. Unfortunately for those looking forward to Amnesia: The Bunker, they are going to have to wait longer than expected.

Amnesia: The Bunker has been delayed yet again, this time pushing its release date from May 23 to June 6. Frictional Games made the announcement on Twitter and explained what the hold-up was. According to the developer, the two-week delay is due to certification issues. But while horror game fans may be disappointed that they have to wait a little longer to play the full game, the bright side is that they will still have a chance to play Amnesia: The Bunker this month.

Frictional confirmed that while the full release of Amnesia: The Bunker has been delayed to June 6, a demo for the game will go live on May 22. Unfortunately, the demo is only going to be playable on PC through Steam, meaning Xbox Game Pass subscribers are being left out if they don't have a suitable PC to use. It remains to be seen how extensive the demo will be, but with Amnesia: The Bunker making major gameplay changes for the franchise, it will definitely be interesting to see what's on offer.

Amnesia: The Bunker has a semi-open world design and combat. While that's quite the departure from series norms, Amnesia: The Bunker trailers have reassured fans that the game is still very much an Amnesia experience. This means fans can expect plenty of scares, a twisted story, and physics-based puzzles to tie it all together.

Amnesia: The Bunker being delayed yet again means that the Xbox Game Pass games for May 2023 aren't quite as impressive as they were before, but there's still some stuff for fans to look forward to later this month. FIFA 23 is coming to Game Pass Ultimate on May 16, the console version of Cassette Beasts and Railway Empire 2 are on deck for May 25, and Farworld Pioneers is joining the service on May 30. It's possible that there are even more new Xbox Game Pass games coming in the second half of May 2023, but fans will have to wait until next week to find out more.
