June 2022 has been a big one for Xbox Game Pass, with subscribers able to get their hands on notable brand-new, day one releases, including the hit game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge. Microsoft is investing heavily in its Xbox Game Pass subscription service, and so the new game additions won't be slowing down anytime soon.
Microsoft will be adding many more new games to the Xbox Game Pass lineup in July 2022. The new Xbox Game Pass games for July 2022 have yet to be fully revealed, but previous announcements have clued fans in on at least five of the new games coming to the service next month. As usual, the new Xbox Game Pass games for July 2022 are a mix of older titles and brand-new, day one releases.
Those curious about the full lineup will likely have to wait until the week of July 4 or thereabouts, but here are all the new Xbox Game Pass games for July 2022 that have been announced so far.
New Xbox Game Pass Games for July 2022 List
- Far Cry 5 - July 1
- Last Call BBS - July 5
- Matchpoint Tennis Championships - July 7
- As Dusk Falls - July 19
- Immortality - July 26
The new Xbox Game Pass games for July 2022 are kicking things off with the addition of Far Cry 5. Far Cry 5 is an open world action-RPG from Ubisoft where players find themselves at odds with cult leader Joseph Seed in Hope County, Montana. Far Cry 5 didn't earn quite as high scores as some other games in the Far Cry series, but it was still mostly well-received. The game is notable as it marks yet another Ubisoft addition to the Xbox Game Pass lineup, coming in just after titles like Assassin's Creed Origins and For Honor: Marching Fire Edition, both of which were added to Game Pass at the end of last month.
Then on July 5, Game Pass subscribers can look forward to the addition of day one game Last Call BBS. Last Call BBS will be in early access when it's added to the Game Pass lineup on July 5, and it should be noted that it will only be available to PC Game Pass subscribers. Last Call BBS is a strange new indie game where players play a variety of mini-games using their fictional in-game machine, the Z5 Powerlance. Last Call BBS looks interesting based on what's been shown so far, and it should make a fine addition to the PC Game Pass lineup.
On July 7, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be treated to another day one game in the form of Matchpoint: Tennis Championships. Matchpoint: Tennis Championships is exactly as its name implies. It's a tennis video game developed by Torus Games and published by Kalypso Media. Players will have the chance of creating their very own tennis player from scratch and can engage in a career mode as well as a variety of multiplayer options. Whether it lives up to the high bar set by some past tennis video games remains to be seen, but Game Pass subscribers will be able to try it for no more than the price of their subscription come July 7.
July 19 will see yet another day one game join the Xbox Game Pass lineup, and this one is particularly exciting. As Dusk Falls was featured prominently at the recent Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, getting an interesting new trailer that helped set up the story and give fans a taste of the game's unique art style. It's an "interactive drama" that tells a story set across 30 years. Players will have to make choices that will impact the narrative and influence the relationships between various characters. If it lives up to expectations, As Dusk Falls could very well be one of the more engaging narrative-based games to release all year, but Game Pass subscribers will have to wait for launch on July 19 to be sure.
Those who are excited to play As Dusk Falls may also be interested in the fifth and final new Xbox Game Pass game for July 2022 that's been confirmed so far. Immortality is currently scheduled to release for Xbox Game Pass on July 26, the latest game from Sam Barlow. For those who may not be familiar with Barlow's work, he is the creative mind behind critically-acclaimed games like Her Story and Telling Lies. Immortality is presented similarly as Barlow's previous games, so anyone that enjoys innovative interactive storytelling will want to check it out come its release on July 26.
Of course, these five games just scratch the surface of what's all coming to Xbox Game Pass in July. Microsoft will likely reveal more of the lineup the week of July 4, if not earlier, so Game Pass subscribers should stay tuned for more information on that front.
