One of Microsoft's main focuses when it comes to the Xbox Series X is the Xbox Game Pass service, doing all it can to bolster its value and acquire new subscribers. This results in Microsoft adding new games to Xbox Game Pass on a regular basis, but like similar subscription services, content is removed from Xbox Game Pass regularly as well.

Later this month, 7 games will be removed from Xbox Game Pass. Subscribers are encouraged to check out the 7 games leaving Xbox Game Pass this month and play whatever catches their eye, but there are two titles in particular that they may want to make some time to play.

Forza Motorsport 7 and Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales stand out among the games leaving Xbox Game Pass in September 2021 because of their critical acclaim. They are two of the highest-rated games that will be removed from Xbox Game Pass this month, and so those looking for high-quality gaming experiences may want to give them priority.

Forza Motorsport 7

Forza Motorsport 7 End of Life Status

Alongside Halo and Gears, the Forza racing game franchise is one of the pillars of the Xbox brand. Forza Motorsport 7 is the latest installment in the main series Forza series by Turn 10 Studios, offering a simulation racing game experience with cutting-edge graphics and top of the line features. While a next-gen Forza Motorsport is in development, it sadly won't be here before Forza Motorsport 7 gets delisted.

Forza Motorsport 7 is getting delisted on September 15 due to licensing issues, and at that point it will get removed from the Xbox Game Pass lineup as well. This is a big loss for Xbox Game Pass subscribers that are racing game fans, but the bright side is they don't have to wait too long for a major new entry in the genre.

Forza Horizon 5 launches November November 9, and like any other Xbox-published game, Forza Horizon 5 will be a day one Xbox Game Pass game. It offers a far more arcadey experience than Forza Motorsport 7, but it should still scratch that racing game itch nonetheless. Not only that, but Forza Horizon 5 has looked incredibly impressive so far, and when one considers Playground Games' track record, it's likely that the game will be one of the top titles of the year across every genre.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales

CD Projekt Red's The Witcher franchise has proven to be one of the more popular fantasy franchises in recent years, with a great deal of praise given to its writing. Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales has also earned critical acclaim for its writing, characters, and story, so anyone that enjoys those elements of the main series Witcher games should definitely consider checking the game out while it's still on Xbox Game Pass.

Unfortunately, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is leaving Xbox Game Pass on the same day as Forza Motorsport 7, September 15. This gives RPG fans just a couple of weeks to check the game out, but it's well worth finding the time to do so. The Witcher 3 enthusiasts may especially find a lot to love about Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, and that's thanks to its primary combat mechanic.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is based on the Gwent card game, a popular mini-game from The Witcher 3 that has taken on a life of its own. It basically gives Gwent a story mode, so anyone that enjoyed playing it in Witcher 3 will likely get a kick out of Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales.
