Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass truly offers a little something for everyone, with games in a wide range of genres and commitment levels. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can now even get a free 75-day membership to Crunchyroll Premium, the highly popular anime streaming service. Other perks currently available for Ultimate subscribers are a 30-day trial to Disney+ and four free months of Spotify Premium.
Xbox Game Pass of course offers the games one would expect, such as Playground Games’ Forza Horizon 5, which was added to the service as a launch-day title on November 9, Minecraft, and Back 4 Blood. But there are also a number of indie titles that many players might never learn about if it weren’t for their inclusion on Xbox Game Pass. There are some real gems to discover, like space survival adventure Breathedge or the 2018 platformer Fe.
For those more in the mood for something quirky along the lines of Untitled Goose Game, publisher Playism’s DEEEER Simulator might fit the bill. Subtitled as “Your Average Everyday Deer Game,” DEEEER Simulator is anything but, and it will be coming to Xbox Game Pass on November 23. Gamers who aren’t subscribed to the service can also preorder the game for Xbox Series X/S beginning today, November 10.
Developed by Gibier Games, DEEER Simulator is no Cabela’s Big Game Hunter, but rather a title where players can either spend their time peacefully hanging out in town with other anthropomorphized animals or let out some stress by destroying everything in sight. Players who wreak too much havoc will find themselves on the radar of some extremely tough animal police, however, like kung fu master sheep and bears that transform into police cars. The game has been in early access on Steam since January 2020, and the reviews thus far have earned DEEEER Simulator a “Very Positive” rating on the site. So Xbox Game Pass subscribers who enjoy a zany game every now and then definitely have something to look forward to.
Playism is a digital distribution platform that offers localization services, debugging, publishing, and marketing to help indie developers get their titles into the hands of gamers. Another title published by Playism currently available on Xbox Game Pass is The Good Life, an RPG in which journalist Naomi Hayward travels to a remote English town for a story and discovers that the townspeople transform into dogs and cats when night falls. The game gives players a mystery to unravel and a sprawling town to explore.
DEEEER Simulator is available in Early Access on PC, and will release on PS4, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S on November 23.
