Xbox's Game Pass subscription continues to rapidly grow, with December 2018 bringing about a new wave of exciting titles free for subscribers to download and play. Yesterday during The Game Awards 2018, Xbox's Phil Spencer announced the holiday season's lineup for Winter of Arcade, an annual barrage of indie game releases.  Several of those games were confirmed as Game Pass releases, a treasure trove in and of itself, but today, Microsoft revealed that there are even more Game Pass December additions left to show.

Six games will be coming to Game Pass during December, as well as the three more revealed yesterday as part of the Winter of Arcade. These releases will start today, December 7, and will roll out through December 20. These are the newly announced planned releases coming to Game Pass:

  • Mortal Kombat X - December 7
  • Pro Evolution Soccer 19 - December 13
  • Spintires: Mudrunner - December 13
  • Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice - December 17
  • Ori and the Blind Forest - December 20
  • Shadow Warrior 2 - December 20

And then there's the Winter of Arcade Game Pass games announced yesterday at The Game Awards:

  • Ashen - December 7
  • Kingdom Two Crowns - December 11
  • Below - December 14

All three of the Winter of Arcade titles are brand new games and are debuting as part of the Game Pass program just as Phil Spencer promised. With regards to Ashen and Below, those promises came several years ago. Though those are older additions, Mortal Kombat X (with a sequel just announced), PES 19, and Hellblade, may just prove the more popular in the end.

Note that this new wave of Game Pass announcements does not make up the entirety of Xbox's December Game Pass plans. Two games were added prior to today, with Mutant Year Zero launching on December 4 and Strange Brigade coming available on December 6. And going by the rate at which Microsoft is adding games to Game Pass, as well as the list of forthcoming additions revealed during X018, there's inevitably more to come between December 20 and the end of the month.

Game Pass' lineup of titles is now well over 100 total games, with major Xbox exclusives including Forza Horizon 4 and Sea of Thieves leading the way. For Xbox One owners who have yet to try the subscription service, Microsoft is offering a special introductory price of just $1 for the first month. Alternatively, current subscribers to the Xbox Game Pass can add 6 months to their subscription for just $30.
