Microsoft has been putting a heavy emphasis on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate in the past few months, trying to establish a reputation for it as one of gaming's best deals. The service offers over one hundred games for subscribers to access, including all Xbox first-party games the same day that they launch. Those that haven't given Game Pass Ultimate a try yet can do so at a sizeable discount right now.

Microsoft is currently offering new Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers three months of the service for $1. That's effectively an entire summer's worth of games virtually for free, so it's definitely something worth diving into for those that haven't given it a shot quite yet. Of course, that's not an option for current subscribers, who will still have to cough up the standard $15 monthly fee.

Notably, gamers are heading into event season right now. With Xbox's E3 showcase, they'll likely see more games being added during the three-month period, bolstering the service's lineup even more. The subscription will expire before Microsoft's biggest blockbuster game of 2021, Halo Infinite, releases in November, but it's still a significant chunk of time to be granted access to Game Pass' offerings.

There are some notable games heading to Xbox Game Pass in June, too. Namely, Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance will be landing on Game Pass on June 22, the same day that it's set to roll out worldwide. While Dark Alliance isn't a full-price game, it will still give gamers a few months to check it out for free before they have to invest in it. It's not the only game being added, either, with plenty of others coming alongside it.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate covers both Xbox consoles and PC, so users on either platform will be able to access the library. The game selection isn't one-to-one, and PC tends to get the short end of the stick, but it's a lot of games to be granted access to, regardless of which ecosystem players find themselves on.

There have been rumors of Game Pass coming to more platforms in the future, with Microsoft indicating that it wants to expand the service as much as possible. While some are apprehensive to subscribe due to the games eventually being removed from the service, Game Pass adds new games monthly, with the occasional extra game sprinkled in. The website doesn't list an expiration date for the $1 Xbox Game Pass Ultimate deal, so fans may want to jump on quickly.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is available now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
