Xbox Game Pass could soon be adding Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 to its ever-growing game library, as suggested by a newly surfaced Microsoft promo. This rumor comes at the heels of yet another day one game that's been added to Xbox Game Pass earlier today.
Developed by Polish studio Red Dot, Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 is one of the most immersive simulation games that's currently available on any platform. It's also the fourth—and latest—installment in the Car Mechanic Simulator series that Red Dot started back in 2014. To date, Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 made its way to both PC and the last two generations of PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
It would appear that the title is now also slated to appear on Xbox Game Pass, as suggested by the latest Xbox Game Pass promo shared by Xbox Japan. The May 11 video briefly shows the Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 cover around the 8-second mark, surrounded by Xbox Game Pass staples like Minecraft and Microsoft Flight Simulator. Given this turn of events, it seems likely that Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 will be making its way to Xbox Game Pass in the near future.
The fact that this apparent addition to the service was revealed by the Japanese branch of Xbox doesn't necessarily imply that Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 won't be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers all over the globe. Some secondary benefits of the subscription service like Xbox Game Pass Ultimate perks do vary by country, but the platform's overall game catalog is mostly identical the world over.
As for Car Mechanic Simulator 2021, the game itself is clearly a niche offering, but one that enjoys quite a cult following among car enthusiasts. That's best underlined by the fact that Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 currently boasts "overwhelmingly positive" user reviews on Steam, based on over 18,000 of player impressions.
Xbox Game Pass is likely set to receive the standard edition of the game, which usually retails at $29.99. There's also the Deluxe Edition that comes with the so-called GoldPack, an expansion consisting of 13 pieces of automaker-specific DLC, introducing vehicles from the likes of Porsche, Maserati, Bentley, and Dodge. The Deluxe Edition of Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 is currently priced at $48.49 on the Microsoft Store.
It remains to be seen when exactly will this title make its way to Microsoft's subscription service. In the meantime, Xbox Game Pass already offers a number of other games that might appeal to Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 fans, including Microsoft Flight Simulator and multiple Forza installments.
