It’s no secret that Xbox Game Pass is the best subscription service in gaming, rotating in a big handful of games every month. Xbox Game Pass does lose games every month, too, but those who have been waiting to play them are given a heads up. Overall, with plenty of games still coming in March, it’s still easy to look forward.
After all, Xbox Game Pass has a ton of games confirmed for release in 2022. Alongside a bunch of indie and third-party titles, fans can expect to see games like Redfall and Starfield on Xbox Game Pass day one. While that may be far away, more and more reveals tend to roll in every couple of weeks, and one of Xbox Game Pass’ free titles for April 2022 has been revealed.
On April 7, Chinatown Detective Agency will join Game Pass on Xbox and PC day one, as announced in a Press Release. It’ll also be available on Steam and Switch. It’s a point-and-click adventure game set in a cyberpunk Singapore in 2037. Players will take on the role of a former police office, Amira Darma, as she begins her PI career in Singapore’s Chinatown district. Her cases around the world eventually put together a huge conspiracy, with players traveling across the world after mysteries and criminals.
Gameplay-wise, players will need to know outside/real-world knowledge to solve the game’s puzzles, with actual trivia sometimes being presented in-game. It also includes elements like code-breaking, and this means players may need to do real-world research to play Chinatown Detective Agency, really engrossing the player into the mind of Darma.
In Chinatown Detective Agency, players will have to make use of two primary resources: time and money. These will play important roles, as well as the choices made by the player. Overall, it sounds like a pretty interesting game. Indie games are known for pushing the medium, and Xbox Game Pass has no shortage of indies for players to try out. On April 7, they’ll have one more.
Of course, that is only one game revealed for next month. Subscribers also know that MLB The Show 22 is joining Xbox Game Pass, on consoles and the cloud, on April 5. And as March winds down, it’s certain that more games will be announced for the early weeks of April.
