Dragon Age 2

Kirkwall's Gallows.

Of all the games coming to Xbox Game Pass this April, Dragon Age 2 is one of the most well-known and critically acclaimed. Dragon Age 2 is coming to the service on April 7 via EA Play. Thanks to an EA Play membership now accompanying any PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate subscription, customers will be able to access the game by streaming it through any reliable Internet connection.

The sequel to the now-iconic Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2 offers the same level of action role-playing as its predecessor. Released by BioWare in 2011, the game's story spans a decade over which players take control of Hawke, a customizable protagonist whose home is destroyed by the Darkspawn Horde. Utilizing improved crafting, exploration, and combat systems, players must navigate the tumultuous world of Thedas in a bid to gain power and stop evil. Players have to navigate gathering and maintaining beneficial allies, as well as engage in a more comprehensive series of romances. The base game for Dragon Age 2 boasts 1,000 gamerscore to achieve, and should be worth picking up for BioWare fans when it hits Game Pass on April 7.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare

Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare Punching Plant

Another unique and interesting title coming to Xbox Game Pass this April is Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare. A sort of successor to the wildly successful Plants vs. Zombies, Garden Warfare shakes up the formula completely to provide a surprisingly enjoyable experience. Garden Warfare will also be available on Game Pass thanks to cloud gaming via EA Play starting April 7, boasting 1,000 gamerscore.

Instead of the tower-defense gameplay of the original, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare opts for a third-person team-based online shooter style that includes PvE co-op. Despite being so detached from its predecessor, Garden Warfare has a lot of whacky gameplay to offer in its own right. Players can battle it out in 24 player co-op, with each side being made up of from colorful cast of classic plants or zombies from the original source material. The game is focused on progression, with serious customization being available to alter loadouts and cosmetics.

Garden Warfare's co-op sees players able to engage in four-player battles against AI, providing a break from the competitive PvP scene. Given servers could become repopulated following the introduction of Garden Warfare to Game Pass on April 7, subscribers may be interested in revisiting the chaotic title.

Life is Strange: True Colors

Alex from Life Is Strange: True Colors

Developed by Deck Nine and published by Square Enix in 2021, Life is Strange: True Colors is set after the events of the other Life is Strange titles, but still retains their classic formula that has established the series as a critically acclaimed entity in the modern gaming industry.

Life is Strange: True Colors sees players take control of Alex Chen, a woman with mysterious powers that enable her to absorb the emotions of others. Following the death of her brother, she must use her powers to uncover the truth surrounding his untimely death, with players taking part in the interactive and narrative-led gameplay that the series is known for. True Colors will be available on Game Pass for consoles and PC on April 12, boasting 1,000 gamerscore to accrue throughout its compelling narrative.

Panzer Corps 2

Another unique title coming with April's Xbox Game Pass additions is Panzer Corps 2. The game was released in 2020 by Flashback Games, and is a strategy game set amid World War 2. The self-titled "king of war games" Panzer Corps series offers a turn-based gameplay formula that breeds calculated decision-making while not being too forbearing or difficult to newcomers. Panzer Corps 2 will be available to play via the PC selection for Game Pass starting April 12.

The massive scale and detailed content offered by Panzer Corps 2 is one of the biggest pull factors for this upcoming Game Pass title. Panzer Corps 2 allows players a fully comprehensive experience of World War 2, allowing them to play as every major power involved in the conflict. This array of playable factions offers a huge amount of units the player can utilize in combat, with over 1,000 historically accurate units at their disposal. With two-player co-op also featuring prominently in Panzer Corps 2, the amount of gameplay available to potential players is commendable. All of these aspects combine to put Panzer Corps 2 among the best games for players to pick up on Xbox Game Pass this April.
