Xbox's Free Plays Days are here once again for Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members. The weekend kicks off early today as all free to play games are now available to install. This time around Xbox has chosen three different games for the weekend, including Ubisoft's action fighting game For Honor. Games can be downloaded via the Microsoft Store or accessed on console through the Free Play Days collection and will be playable starting today until the end of Sunday, July 18.
Out of the games available this weekend, For Honor might be the biggest draw. Focused on dueling combat with other players and set in a medieval fantasy universe, the game is currently in the Mirage season of its fifth year. Last month For Honor hit Xbox Game Pass, and those who missed out on downloading it have a chance to play for free again. It has received praise for its unique combat mechanics and includes seven different game modes that pit players against one another and AI opponents. The game's Standard Edition will be accessible during the Free Play Days.
Next up is The Survivalists, a sandbox survival game set in the same universe as the Escapists series. While the previous games adhere more to strategy and puzzle-solving, The Survivalists dives into classic survival game mechanics such as farming, building, and breeding animals. Players must trek into a procedurally generated wilderness to find enemies, secrets, and hopefully gather the necessary items to survive. The Survivalists has also been gifted with a free Expeditions Update, which adds new items, collectibles, and quality of life changes.
The final game available to subscribers this weekend is Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD. An improved remake of the game that came out in 2006, it has all of the typical hallmarks of a Super Monkey Ball game but adds boss battles for an extra challenge. Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD has over 100 stages and 50 different mini-games. For gamers waiting on the release of the recently announced Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania, Banana Blitz HD might just offer a fun weekend fix.
Although each of these games will only be free to play for a limited time, now may be a good time to buy them if players are interested. For Honor, The Survivalists, and Banana Blitz HD are all discounted right now, with some price cuts as high as 75% off. Even without purchasing the games players can still keep any achievements earned over the course of the weekend, and Gamerscore hunters have these offerings and the Free Games With Gold for July to use to buff up their totals.
