Xbox Live Gold subscribers have likely signed up for Microsoft's subscription service to enjoy online multiplayer features, but there are other benefits to take into account as well. Along with online multiplayer access and discounts, an Xbox Live Gold subscription gets users four free games every month, with two pulled from the Xbox One library and two others taken from the Xbox 360 library.

Microsoft likes to release the Xbox free Games with Gold throughout the month, making two titles available at the beginning of the month and another two available in the middle of the month. When it comes to the Xbox free Games with Gold games for the middle of the month, they're officially supposed to be available on the 16th, but the games are often given away a day in advance. This is the case with the Xbox free Games with Gold games for July 2022, with subscribers now able to snag another two games from the lineup a day ahead of schedule.

From now until August 15, Xbox Live Gold subscribers can claim first-person puzzle game Relicta. Diablo-style action-RPG dungeon crawler Torchlight, meanwhile, is available for Xbox Live Gold subscribers to claim until July 31. Beasts of Maravilla Island remains one of the free games that subscribers can claim until July 31, while Thrillville: Off the Rails will still be available for another day for those interested in claiming it for their collection.

Xbox Free Games With Gold for July 2022 List

Microsoft has been giving away four free Games with Gold games every month since the Xbox One launched in 2013, but that will be changing in the relatively near future. It was recently announced that the September 2022 free Games with Gold will mark the last time that Xbox 360 games are included in the lineup. Starting in October, Xbox Live Gold subscribers will only be treated to two free Xbox One games every month.

This was really only a matter of time, and some may be surprised that it's taken this long for Microsoft to phase out the Xbox 360 free Games with Gold games. Even more fans may be surprised that Xbox Live Gold hasn't been done away with completely at this point. After all, Microsoft is clearly focusing all of its attention on its Xbox Game Pass subscription service, with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription coming with all the perks of Game Pass plus everything that Xbox Live Gold offers.

Rumors have persisted that Microsoft is going to get rid of Xbox Live Gold, but for now, subscribers can continue to look forward to free games every month.
