While most of the attention seems to be on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service lately, Xbox Live Gold subscribers are still enjoying the benefits of online multiplayer and new free games every month. As always, Microsoft staggers the Xbox free Games with Gold for January 2022 so that subscribers have a couple of games to claim at the beginning of the month and then a couple more to snag in the second half of the month.
And while the second batch of Xbox free Games with Gold for January 2022 technically aren't supposed to be available until Sunday, January 16, they are actually free to claim a day early. This isn't uncommon for Xbox free Games with Gold games, with subscribers usually able to search for and claim the free games a day ahead of schedule. With that in mind, there are now two more free Games with Gold games for Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to check out.
Until February 15, Xbox Live Gold subscribers can claim Aground for free. Aground is an RPG where players collect resources to craft and build. It first released in 2020 and didn't get much attention at the time, but perhaps it will find a brand-new audience now that it's being given away as one of the free Games with Gold games.
Xbox Free Games With Gold for January 2022
- NeuroVoider (January 1 - January 31)
- Radiant Silvergun (January 1 - January 15)
- Aground (January 16 - February 15)
- Space Invaders Infinity Gene (January 16 - January 31)
Aground is joined by Space Invaders Infinity Gene, which will be free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers to claim until January 31. One of the newer versions of the classic arcade game, Space Invaders Infinity Gene has over 100 levels to complete. It features a variety of different Space Invaders art styles as well, with the game getting more graphically complex as players progress through its stages.
In the meantime, January 15 marks the last day that Xbox Live Gold subscribers can claim Radiant Silvergun as well as Tropico 5, the latter of which is a leftover from the Xbox free Games with Gold for December 2021. NeuroVoider, which has been up for grabs since January 1, will remain available until January 31. At that point fans will know what the Xbox free Games with Gold for February 2022 are, and it will definitely be interesting to see how next month's lineup compares to January's offerings.
