It's nearly the end of November, which means Xbox Live Gold subscribers will soon have a new batch of free games to add to their collection. The free Xbox Games with Gold for December 2020 have now been revealed, consisting of two Xbox One games and two Xbox 360 titles.

For the month of December, Xbox Live Gold subscribers can claim The Raven: Remastered, an episodic point-and-click adventure game from King Art Games. The Raven earned mixed reviews at the time of its release, and failed to generate quite as much interest as some other episodic games of its era, like the titles from Telltale Games. The other free Games with Gold game Xbox One users can claim is Bleed 2, a 2D action co-op game. Bleed 2 will be available from December 16 to January 15, 2021.

The Xbox 360 offerings are a little more interesting, with subscribers able to claim Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell from December 1 to December 15 and Stacking from December 16 to December 31. Gat Out of Hell is a Saints Row 4 spin-off game all about fan favorite character Johnny Gat, whereas Stacking is a quirky puzzle/adventure game from Double FineStacking is the most well-reviewed game in the lineup, and it may very well end up being a surprise hit for some who may not have even known it existed until now.

What's interesting about the Xbox Games with Gold lineup for December 2020 is that it is missing any games that are explicitly optimized for Xbox Series X. This is in stark contrast to how Sony has handled PlayStation Plus for the PS5 so far, having already released one PS5 game through the service and making it clear that PS Plus subscribers can look forward to another free PS Plus PS5 game in February as well.

There have been rumors that Microsoft may be looking to phase out Xbox Live Gold in favor of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which would make a lot of sense. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate gives players Gold benefits anyway, and Microsoft no longer appears to really be "trying" with its Games with Gold lineups from one month to the next. Maybe future Games with Gold lineups will feature Xbox Series X games, but maybe the service is set to be phased out entirely, alongside the Xbox One console itself.

In the meantime, Xbox Live Gold subscribers still have time to download some of the free Games with Gold for November 2020. This includes Aragami and Swimsanity! for Xbox One owners, as well as the original LEGO Indiana Jones game for the Xbox 360.
