We are right at the end of another month, which means Microsoft is ready to show off the next lineup of new Games with Gold for May 2019. Xbox One players will be mingling with friends through a collection of party games, then hitting the fairway. Xbox 360 owners will be defending the planet from deadly space bugs and getting into all sorts of comic mischief.

As always, Games with Gold is offering four new titles to members that they will be able to play for free, two for each console. The first is released a the beginning of the month, and the second in the middle of the month. For May 2019, Xbox One members can play a mix of party games on the couch or online with Marooners, where the twist is the games regularly switch on the fly, or grabbing their clubs and competing for the cup in The Gold Club 2 Featuring PGA Tour. Those on the Xbox 360 will be busy fighting off aliens with a plethora of weapons and jetpacks in Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon, and later leaping into the pages of comic books with Comic Jumper.

  • Marooners - Available May 1 to 31 on Xbox One
  • The Golf Club 2 Featuring PGA Tour - Available May 16 to June 15 on Xbox One
  • Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon - Available May 1 to 15 on Xbox One and Xbox 360
  • Comic Jumper - Available May 16 to 31 on Xbox One and Xbox 360

It is cutting it awful close, but there is still a bit of time to enjoy two of the games in April 2019's free Games with GoldThe Technomancer and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 will be available until tomorrow, April 30.

That's what is coming up in May, but anyone interested in what Microsoft has cooking up for the far future, there is already a lot of talk about the next generation of consoles. It is not far enough into development to know a lot about what these console will offer, but according to industry insiders, the next generation Xbox console will be more powerful than the PlayStation 5. That's a lofty claim this early in the game, but it is surely exciting Xbox fans. We will have to see how things play out as the next generation of consoles prepare for their eventual releases.
