Microsoft recently confirmed that it will be hosting a joint E3 2021 press conference with Bethesda on Sunday, June 13 at 10am PT. It will likely be one of the most hotly-anticipated E3 events this year, as many are looking forward to seeing more of Bethesda's Starfield project as well as other games that are currently in development for the Xbox Series X. Fans are expecting to see games from Microsoft's various acquired studios, and one studio that may have an especially big presence at the event is Obsidian Entertainment.

Jez Corden of Windows Central recently wrote a report about what they expect to see from Xbox's E3 2021 press conference. Corden has apparently heard "conflicting information" about what Obsidian games will be at E3. Apparently, there's a 50/50 chance that Obsidian's Elder Scrolls-inspired Avowed game will be at the show, which would be a big deal since fans likely still have years to wait until they get to play The Elder Scrolls 6.

Corden has also been told that Obsidian could be announcing The Outer Worlds 2 at E3. Whereas Avowed takes inspiration from The Elder ScrollsThe Outer Worlds took inspiration from Bethesda's Fallout games. Likened to being Fallout in space, The Outer Worlds earned strong reviews at the time of its release, so it would make sense for Microsoft to fast-track a sequel and capitalize on the first game's popularity.

While Avowed and a potential Outer Worlds sequel may be the heavy-hitters from Obsidian, there's also a chance that Grounded could be featured at E3 2021 as well. Grounded has been quite the departure for Obsidian, as it's a Honey, I Shrunk the Kids style survival game as opposed to an RPG, but it certainly has its fans. Grounded has only been available in early access so far, so perhaps E3 2021 will give fans an idea of when they can expect the full release or at least what they can look forward to in upcoming updates.

If Corden's information is correct, it seems as though Obsidian Entertainment is going to have a significant presence at E3 2021. However, it will be far from the only studio showcasing games at the event. The Xbox/Bethesda E3 2021 showcase is expected to be a whopping 90 minutes long, and so fans can look forward to a wide variety of game reveals from Microsoft's various studios.

One game that's virtually guaranteed to make an appearance is the upcoming Halo Infinite. Originally meant to be an Xbox Series X launch title, Halo Infinite is now due for release later this year, though there's still a lot about the game remains a mystery. Fans will have to tune in to the Xbox E3 showcase on June 13 at 10am PT to find out more about Halo Infinite and to see if these Obsidian rumors hold any weight.
