Junk food and video games are a crossover that advertisers have capitalized on for decades, with Xbox becoming an industry leader in the area. Whether it's Pop-Tarts or Mountain Dew, an Xbox logo has adorned many a delicious, if not quite healthy, snack's box. That trend is continuing, it seems, with a newly announced partnership between Xbox and Krispy Kreme in the UK. Starting in August, visiting a Krispy Kreme in the UK could lead to delicious Xbox-branded donuts, and a chance to win an Xbox Series S.

In a short commercial designed to appear like a sanitized Xbox game announcement, the new Xbox Krispy Kreme donuts are introduced. They appear to be a type of filled donut, though their filling isn't clear, with Xbox's green-colored icing on top and then powdered sugar used to create the Xbox-shaped logo on top. It's being branded as "The Nexus Level Doughnut" and is planned to be available for a limited time, between August 2 and August 22.

As for the promotion, Xbox is offering Krispy Kreme UK customers a chance to win an Xbox Series S, plus a free month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Between August 2 and August 22, Krispy Kreme UK will be offering a promotional dozen in-store or will allow customers to make their own custom Xbox dozen online. Included with the purchase will be a code that can be redeemed for a chance at an Xbox Series S. The first redemption will come with an automatic prize of a month of Xbox Game Pass.

There doesn't appear to be any special occasion associated with the Xbox and Krispy Kreme UK partnership. It's just a bit of advertising done in a fun way that could perhaps drive some attention toward Xbox's next-generation consoles. Giving away free months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is a great way to get new players into the subscription service, too.

While there are no collectibles or anything of the like associated with the Xbox and Krispy Kreme UK, there doesn't have to be for it to be a fun endeavor for Xbox fans. It's a good excuse for fans to treat themselves to some Xbox-branded donuts, if nothing else.

No official word has been shared about the possibility of the Xbox and Krispy Kreme partnership reaching anywhere outside of the UK, unfortunately. As such Xbox fans and donut fans alike in the United States will have to go without an officially branded Xbox logo on their donuts in August unless they want to take a trip to the UK. There are always homemade Xbox donuts, of course.
