Ever since the release of the Xbox Series X/S late last year, Xbox has been making quite a few moves within the gaming industry. From the acquisition of Bethesda to the development of new Xbox exclusive titles, members of the gaming community have plenty of reasons to own a new Xbox console. Now, it seems Microsoft has secured exclusivity rights for a highly anticipated third-party developed game.

A shortcoming that the Xbox One possessed during its initial run was the lack of first-party exclusives. Console exclusive games are great in persuading prospective consumers to purchase a new system, simply due to the fact that console exclusives can't be played anywhere else. Within the last year, the Xbox Series X/S has received numerous console exclusive games, but apparently, there will be another big Xbox exclusive title released by a third-party developer.

According to Twitter user Millie A, who also works as a video game data analyst, Xbox has secured exclusivity on an important third-party title that isn't just a day one launch on Xbox Game Pass. The Twitter user went on to say that the words 'delighted' and 'ecstatic' were used frequently when describing every involved party.

Though, it obviously begs to question which game Millie A could potentially be referring to. It likely doesn't refer to anything developed by Bethesda, considering that the studio was acquired by Microsoft and therefore, is considered a second-party Xbox developer at this point. However, that doesn't mean that there aren't other possibilities in terms of what this mystery third-party game could be.

Bloober Team's The Medium was previously an Xbox exclusive title before its recent PS5 port. While the studio has decided to discontinue any sort of discussion regarding the studio's acquisition from publishers such as Xbox, it's possible that the studio could be working on another big game that would release on Xbox first, only to then be ported onto other systems.

Ultimately, there's not enough information to truly pin down what game or which third-party developer Millie A could be referring to. Not to mention that while this information has come from an insider source, it's not an official announcement made by Xbox. Thus, this news should be taken with a grain of salt. In any case, it will be interesting to see what other console exclusives could potentially arrive on the Xbox Series X in the years to come.
