E3 2021 has snuck up on the video game industry. The June digital convention is now just a month and many of the industry's biggest publishers have confirmed their participation. Perhaps the most anticipated of those E3 participants is Xbox, which has announced a two-part event allowing both Xbox Games Studios and Bethesda time to spotlight their work. Now an industry insider has provided additional insight into the "big show" that Xbox is planning.

Jeff Grubb of GamesBeat has spent the past several months sharing details about E3 2021 and other summer gaming events. As part of his most recent live stream on the topic, he delved into his current understanding of the Xbox and Bethesda two-show event. Specifically, he now understands that the two shows are now being approached as more of a single show. Xbox has decided to make the two "even closer" in order to give it the feel of "one big show."

As for what that means, Grubb doesn't have all of the details. He says that there are still aspects of the show that are being handled separately between the Xbox Games Studios side and the Bethesda side. It's all just going to be presented within a single all-encompassing show rather than one show beginning and ending and then the other following. There will be no Xbox and Bethesda shows, but rather just the Xbox show which will include Bethesda within it.

Grubb's information has not been officially confirmed, obviously. He's typically been reliable in his reporting, but even if the information he's sharing is accurate there's a possibility that plans could change between now and E3 2021. And it's also very much possible that Grubb information came from sources who may not have the latest or correct information. E3 is an incredibly tumultuous event, after all.

The apparent change in format for Xbox's E3 presentation isn't likely to mean any alterations in the content shown. The same E3 announcements and games will likely get the same time as prior. It'll just be structured differently. That way, Xbox can present a united front, showing the strength of the brand overall rather than splitting its efforts while also potentially confusing fans.

With just a month left before E3 arrives, gamers can expect a lot more information to be shared in the weeks ahead. That includes official information from Xbox regarding the day and time of its planned Xbox showcase, as well as what could be some teasers for some pending announcements.
