The popularity of Animal Crossing: New Horizons is so widespread that, at times, it seems like everyone is playing the Nintendo Switch game. That's ringing all the more true after the official Xbox Twitter account shared some of its Xbox activity Friday afternoon. Xbox posted two if its custom designs for Xbox brand shirts along with their share codes so that Animal Crossing: New Horizons players can display their Xbox fandom with their friends.

There are two Animal Crossing: New Horizons shirts in Xbox's tweet. One is a short-sleeve tee, a sort of jersey that's both green and black. It has a "01" number on its side for Xbox One. Xbox calls this shirt the "Green Reflection." The second one is a black sweater featuring large white brackets with the letters of Xbox placed in a square shape. Xbox named this shirt the "Open Box." The code for Green Reflection is "MO-XCYX-Y869-W0DG" and the code for Open Box is "MOO-C4BP-868N-M37G."

What's especially fun about the Xbox Twitter account posting the two Animal Crossing shirts is that Xbox fans are joining in, sharing their own Xbox cosmetics. Twitter user ghaloulou posted a lime green Xbox baseball cap and user Minjinx012 posted an in-game painting they made of Master Chief's helmet. A custom Halo Infinite Hoodie was also made by iareBRENDEN, which even looks like custom Spartan gear. It's a great opportunity to celebrate Xbox.

The irony that this is a celebration of Xbox for fans playing a game on a competitor's console likely isn't lost on anyone. It hearkens back to the advertising campaign for Minecraft when Xbox launched it on the Nintendo Switch. The ad had the words "Survive Together" with a bi-color background, green and red. It was a charming message of solidarity.

It's hard to imagine prior to this generation Xbox being so openly friendly with Nintendo, but the change already has some fun outcomes. Everyone, including the Xbox team, should be able to have fun with Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

For those unfamiliar, Animal Crossing: New Horizons features a customization system for various different cosmetics in-game. That includes shirts, hats, dresses, and so on. These custom designs can all be shared online via a QR code or a more traditional code.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on Nintendo Switch.
