Despite its relatively short time in the industry compared to Sony and Nintendo, the Xbox line of consoles has seen quite a view peripherals, controller varieties, and other obscure gadgets. Microsoft prides itself on its versatility when it comes to its potent Xbox consoles, and the creators of these devices have sought to further expand this versatility.

These devices range from unique controllers to sleek custom consoles to augmentative dongles. Collectors into Xbox-branded finds certainly have their work cut out for them, given the abundance of devices; many of which only had limited runs.

Let's attempt to sift through the clutter as we examine 10 of the rarest, most exclusive Xbox-related accessories, and take a look at their current asking price.

10 Nyko Technologies SpeakerCom For Xbox Live ($20)

In the more archaic online gaming days of the early 2000's, there weren't exactly a ton of sophisticated options when it came to voice chat.

This strange gadget from Nyko proved to be at least sufficient in allowing for a crude form of chatting with friends on Xbox Live, but paled in comparison to the official option. The thing worked more like a cumbersome walkie-talkie than a nuanced microphone, as you had to hold a button when speaking. Given the rarity of Microsoft's own original Xbox mic, you could imagine how hard it is to get your hands on this obscure, short-lived piece of equipment.

9 Rapala Pro Bass Fishing With Rod Peripheral ($80)

Take a relatively obscure fishing game and couple it with the even rarer, more expensive fishing rod accessory, and it's easy to see why this Xbox 360 game bundle makes our list. It won't be a cakewalk finding a brand new, fully functional bundle in its original box, and the few that have been spotted in the wild aren't cheap, selling for around $80 on eBay.

The neatest thing about this fishing rod is that it's wireless - making it even easier to catch those virtual fish in Rapala Pro Bass Fishing. Being a fishing game over a decade old on a console known for its shooters doesn't make for an easy sell, hence its scarcity.

8 Steel Battalion Complete Set ($200)

This beast of a peripheral is more of an elaborate flight simulator rather than a straight-up video game. Its massive, detailed nature, relative obscurity, and novelty has made it a favorite among Xbox collectors.

If you've ever wondered what it felt like to pilot a massive mech, Steel Battalion for the original Xbox is likely about as close as you'll get. The game comes with 3 bulking panels which are littered with dozens of buttons, knobs, and joysticks that each serve their own purpose. There's even a group of pedals to further emulate the experience. Needless to say, this isn't the most user-friendly game. Even upon its release, these beasts weren't easy to get ahold of, and cost nearly as much as a gaming console.

7 Mayflash X-JoyBox ($50)

As it so happens, there was a means for players of the first Xbox to opt for Sony's more traditional controllers for their games. This would have been particularly useful in the very early days of the console's life, as Microsoft's first controller design was a bulky monstrosity.

Enter the Mayflash X-Joybox, a convenient gadget which allowed you to plug PS1 and PS2 controllers into its outlets. While these are relatively cheap, the trick is getting your hands on one at all. Being an older third party accessory that wasn't widely produced, they're a pretty rare item.

6 Radica Xbox Arcade Stick ($80)

There have been a plethora of arcade sticks released for the Xbox line over the years; which isn't too surprising given its healthy lineup of fighters.

But one of the rarest among them is known as the Radica Arcade Stick, released for the first Xbox, standing as yet another collector's item that dates back to the early 2000s. This thing was designed mainly for the Dead or Alive series, but is compatible for a number of fighting games. Aside from its smaller size and somewhat cheap feel, it makes for a pretty solid, durable piece of hardware; especially for its price of $50-$80.

5 Pelican Accessories Scope Light Rifle/Blaster For Xbox ($75)

If you thought the SNES Super Scope was awkward and bulky, try this monstrosity on for size. This large rifle/blaster, designed for Silent Scope on the Xbox, seems to sport the dimensions and shape of a real sniper rifle - even coming with a scope attached to the top. Yet, its cheap plastic design and neon-green color scheme make it resemble an oversized Nerf gun.

Still, it's more elaborate than it might appear - you can even detach the top portion of the gun, quickly turning it into a smaller shotgun. Even on Amazon and eBay, these are pretty rare finds, and aren't particularly cheap for a plastic peripheral.

4 Xbox 360 Limited Edition Kinect Star Wars Bundle ($530)

If there's one cool custom bundle to be associated with Microsoft's motion-sensing camera, Kinect, it's this cheeky R2-D2-themed 360. Sure, the game that comes in the package, Star Wars Kinect, might be pretty lame, but the creative, sleek design of the console and controller certainly makes up for it.

The design, which features elements of the Star Wars droid's body, just meshes perfectly with the rectangular, mechanical structure of the 360 and its disc tray. The slick chrome gold paint job of the controller, meant to resemble C-3PO, makes for a cool compliment too. It's no wonder this rare, limited edition bundle comes at such a steep price, despite this hardware model being a decade old.

3 Battlefield Hardline Xbox One Controller (Price Unknown)

As part of a limited-time sweepstakes by Microsoft, this cool, detailed Battlefield Hardline controller was offered to just one grand prize winner. Since this controller was never mass-produced, this means the winner would have been getting their hands on one of the rarest official controllers in existence.

In order to get a shot at landing one, which would be housed in a wooden "Nerdist" branded case, fans were told to leave a comment on a page set up by the Director of Programming for XBL, "Major Nelson." The comment was to be an answer related to one's preferred class and loadout of Battlefield.

2 Custom Painted Titanfall Xbox One ($800)

This slick Titanfall-themed custom Xbox One can basically only be admired from its photos - that's because it was only ever available to the development team at Respawn, the makers of the franchise.

The detailed, sleek appearance is as appealing as the addictive online romp of Titanfall itself. It's not just eye candy, however; it also comes equipped with custom sounds ripped directly from the game. When pressing the power and disc eject touch buttons, you'll trigger mechanical noises that resemble the Titanfall mechs.

1 Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Xbox One X ($8,300)

Taking its place as not only one of the rarest Xbox items, but perhaps one of the sleekest looking custom consoles, this machine stands at "holy grail" status. As you'd imagine by the elaborate, chiseled detail of this thing, extremely limited quantities were made, as part of a special event in which Square Enix sold it at an auction for charity.

It ended up selling for over $8,000, making it more of a precious gaming gem than an accessory. Lara Croft would have to do some deep, expansive tomb raiding indeed to find this sort of treasure.
